Hedonist Lodge, Budapest — Hotel in Budapest

Booked a 4 person room for a 3 night stay. Didnt expect much as we just wanted a place to sleep for a party vacation. Upon arrival the instructions to get to our room were unclear as we didnt even get a room number and had to try on every door. The room was dirty, there was trash left from the previous people staying and we only had 2 beds and a small sofa to sleep on. The glasses and cutlery in the room were scarce and extremly dirty. Our toilet seat was broken and dirty. The shower had no curtain and you always flooded the whole washroom. The only upside was the perfect location. Under the rooms is a huge bar and restaurant and all the other clubs and bars are in a walking distance of 5 to 10 minutes. Nuestra experiencia en Hedonist Lodge (Budapest) fue muy decepcionante. Reservamos un apartamento de 1 dormitorio que no se parecía en nada a lo que mostraban las fotos. Al llegar, nos encontramos con un lugar sucio, lleno de telarañas (especialmente en la zona de la cama, que parecía estar metida dentro de un armario), con muebles en mal estado y mal colocados, dejando muy poco espacio para moverse. Las puertas y el baño eran muy antiguos y desprendían malos olores.

Además, el edificio nos dio muy mala impresión desde el primer momento, y lo peor fue el ruido: el alojamiento está justo encima de un bar-pub y da a un patio interior donde la música y los gritos duran hasta las 3h los fines de semana (y hasta las 00h entre semana). Justo enfrente hay también un discopub que cierra todos los días a las 3h, con colas de gente gritando justo bajo la ventana.

Todo esto no se menciona en ningún momento al hacer la reserva. No pudimos dormir bien ni una sola noche, y la sensación durante la estancia fue la de estar en una casa del terror. No lo recomendamos en absoluto.

Our stay at Hedonist Lodge (Budapest) was extremely disappointing. We booked a one-bedroom apartment that looked nothing like the pictures. Upon arrival, the place was dirty and full of cobwebs (especially around the bed, which was oddly built into a closet). The furniture was in poor condition and badly arranged, leaving barely any space to move. The doors and bathroom were very old and gave off bad smells.

The building itself felt unwelcoming, but the worst part was the noise: the apartment is located directly above a bar-pub and overlooks a courtyard where loud music and shouting go on until 3am on weekends (and midnight on weekdays). There's also a discopub right in front of the apartment that closes at 3am every night, with crowds shouting just outside the window.

None of this was mentioned at the time of booking. We couldn’t sleep properly during our stay, and the whole experience felt like living in a haunted house. We do not...

The only good thing about this place is the location to the inner city. If you don’t want to sleep it’s the right place. Right above a bar but walls are paper thin, could hear everything going on so got next to no sleep for 3 nights. The room was filthy with dirt and cobwebs, I wanted to leave the second we got there. The bathroom had what looked like splats of blood on the wall and the shower was disgusting, with a drain that doesn’t work so the water ran out of the bathroom.
