My stay at the Anantara New York Palace in Budapest was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and impeccable service that set the tone for the entire experience. This luxurious hotel perfectly blends historic charm with modern sophistication, creating an atmosphere that is both inviting and awe-inspiring.
Situated in the heart of Budapest, the hotel's location is ideal for exploring the city's rich cultural heritage. It's within walking distance of many iconic landmarks, including the Hungarian State Opera House and St. Stephen's Basilica, as well as numerous shops, cafes, and restaurants. The convenience of the location cannot be overstated, making it a perfect base for both leisure and business travelers.
The hotel's architecture is a magnificent blend of Italian Renaissance style with contemporary elegance. The grand lobby, with its stunning marble floors, chandeliers, and intricate frescoes, immediately transports you to an era of opulence and grandeur. The New York Café, often referred to as the "most beautiful café in the world," is an absolute must-visit. Its breathtaking decor and rich history provide a unique dining experience that is both visually and gastronomically delightful.
The rooms at Anantara New York Palace are spacious, well-appointed, and exude luxury. My room featured a perfect balance of classic and modern elements, with plush furnishings, high ceilings, and state-of-the-art amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a large soaking tub, rainfall shower, and high-quality toiletries that added a touch of indulgence.
The level of service at this hotel is truly exceptional. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and went out of their way to make my stay memorable. From the concierge who provided excellent recommendations for local attractions to the housekeeping staff who maintained my room impeccably, the attention to detail was evident in every aspect of my stay.
Dining at the hotel is an experience in itself. The New York Café offers an exquisite selection of Hungarian and international cuisine, with each dish presented beautifully and bursting with flavor. The breakfast buffet was extensive and featured a variety of high-quality options, catering to all tastes and dietary preferences. The bar also offered a cozy and sophisticated setting for evening drinks, with an impressive selection of wines and cocktails.
The hotel boasts a range of top-notch amenities, including a luxurious spa, a well-equipped fitness center, and a beautiful indoor pool. These facilities provided the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the city. The spa treatments were particularly rejuvenating, and the serene environment made for a truly relaxing experience.
In summary, my stay at Anantara New York Palace - Budapest was nothing short of perfect. The combination of its prime location, stunning architecture, luxurious accommodations, and impeccable service make it an ideal choice for anyone visiting Budapest. Read moreA very magnificent house and interior. Very good service. The deluxe double room was a good size and with a pleasant interior. The best towels I have ever seen in a hotel. Good shampoos and creams from Aqua di Parma. Plenty of high-quality care products (toothpaste, saving cream, lip balm, hairbrush, etc.). Breakfast is served in the basement of the famous New York cafe, which is not as fancy as the main floor, but also has a richly decorated interior. The breakfast was good, but considering the level of the hotel, I would have expected a little more choice. The service at breakfast was probably one of the best I have ever experienced. The SPA seemed quite large and good, but without slippers and a bathrobe I was not allowed to go further than the lobby and since we had little time, we decided to explore the city further instead of visiting the SPA. The White restaurant, located on the balcony of the New York cafe, was a good place to sit and watch the hustle and bustle of the cafe below, but at the same time the noise from the cafe below was too loud at times. The biggest problem was that the food was quite mediocre, the best taste experience was the compliment from the chef and the bread served with the meal. But the service was very good.
There were some signs of wear and tear in the room and some things were broken. For example: the light switch was loose from the wall, the sink plug was broken so that the water wouldn't drain - small problems in themselves, but they left a sad impression, all of them could have been easily fixed. As they say - sometimes a drop of tar can ruin a whole pot of honey. Switching on the lights is problematic, there are many switches and I couldn't figure out what they all switch on, but there was no master off switch. There were two table lamps next to the bed and another floor lamp that didn't even have switches on the cord and had to be turned on and off by plugging the cord into the socket (very inconvenient). The soundproofing of the windows was not good, but our room faced a quiet side street and it didn’t bother us much. The air conditioning control panel doesn’t indicate the adjustable temperature – there are only conditional positions: “0” in the middle and dashes to -3 on one side and dashes to +3 on the other. It’s not known which way you turn it will get colder and which way it will get warmer. Thanks to the famous New York cafe, there’s a lot of hustle and bustle around the hotel (there are long queues on the street in front of the hotel during the day), but everything is arranged in such a way that it would disturb the hotel guests as little as possible. Technically, the hotel is located in the city centre, but it’s still too far to explore the sights on foot. Getting around the city by taxi is not very expensive, but since the traffic is very heavy, it’s quite slow.
In conclusion, this stay was a very pleasant experience - the house and interior are very grand and the service was...
Read moreA Heartfelt Experience We’ll Never Forget
If you’re looking for a stay that goes beyond luxury and enters the realm of genuine warmth, then Anantara New York Palace in Budapest is where you need to be. We recently had the pleasure of staying here, and words can’t fully capture how much this experience touched our hearts. From the moment we walked in, we felt like more than just guests—we felt like family. Budapest is now forever special to us, thanks in no small part to the incredible hospitality we received here.
First, I have to give a huge shout-out to Peter, the Quality Manager. Peter went above and beyond, making sure we were not just comfortable but truly cared for. One of the highlights of our trip was dining at the iconic New York Café, and Peter made it happen despite the long line snaking out the door. Without any reservation, he got us a table, and not once did he stop checking in to see if everything was perfect. His kindness and attention to detail made us feel like we were the only guests in the hotel.
Then there was Krisztina, who served us during breakfast. Mornings can be chaotic, especially when a place is busy, but Krisztina was an absolute gem. She was so sweet and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed—even during the breakfast rush. She never hesitated to refill our drinks or accommodate our requests, and her warmth set the tone for a beautiful day ahead.
Hector was another standout. We met him in the lobby, and even though the bar was fully booked, he somehow made it work for us. His hospitality was unmatched, and he ensured we were comfortable and taken care of, going above and beyond to cater to our needs.
And let’s not forget Mark, the mixologist at Poet’s Bar. Mark is not just a bartender; he’s an artist. Each drink he made was an experience in itself, and he took the time to explain the stories behind them. His recommendations were spot on, and it felt like we were on a journey with every sip.
There were so many others whose names I sadly can’t recall, but I want to acknowledge how every single staff member contributed to making our stay as comfortable and special as possible. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we had a relaxed and memorable time.
This hotel made us fall in love with Budapest. It’s not just the stunning interiors or the luxury accommodations that made it memorable—it was the people. The team at Anantara New York Palace made our trip unforgettable, and we can’t wait to return.
Thank you for the hospitality, for the kindness, and for making Budapest a place we’ll always hold dear in...
