When I stepped into Fröken Reykjavik, the friendly atmosphere was immediately noticeable. The staff greeted me warmly, setting a relaxed yet professional tone for the evening. The Christmas menu was a well-curated selection of traditional dishes, each with a unique twist that showcased the restaurant's creative approach.

Starting with the lobster and rock crab broth, its blend of root vegetables and lightly smoked cream was a perfect opener, introducing a depth of flavor that was both comforting and sophisticated. The scallops from Westfjords, enhanced with double smoked lamb and a pine tree vinaigrette, were a delightful surprise, offering a complex taste experience.

The reindeer tartar was an adventurous choice that really worked. The mix of egg yolk, beetroot, rye bread, and juniper created a harmonious blend. The slow-cooked goose, sourced from the Icelandic Highlands, was the epitome of comfort food, served with mushrooms, blueberries, potatoes, and red cabbage for a rich and satisfying dish.

For dessert, the mandarin and almonds dish was a standout. The moist almond cake, the citrusy mandarin mousse, and the crispy almonds offered a wonderful combination of textures and flavors.

Kristina and Maria’s service was spot on. They were attentive but not overbearing, providing great recommendations and clearly passionate about ensuring a great dining experience.

The pricing reflected the quality of the ingredients and the skill in preparation. The restaurant’s attention to dietary needs also spoke of their commitment to guest care.

In conclusion, Fröken Reykjavik is more than just a restaurant; it's a place where great food and atmosphere come together to create a memorable experience. I left satisfied and looking forward to my next visit. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Fröken Reykjavik for a...

I recently visited Fröken Reykjavik, and it quickly became my favorite restaurant in Iceland. Their Christmas menu was an absolute delight, filled with a variety of flavours that made my dining experience unforgettable!

The Lobster & Rock Crab Broth was a great start. It had this nice, comforting taste with the root vegetables, and the smoked cream added a lovely touch. Then came the Scallops from Westfjords, which were amazing.

The Reindeer Tartar was another highlight. It had a great mix of flavors with egg yolk, beetroot, ryebread, and juniper. It was something new and exciting for me. The main course, the Slow Cooked Goose from the Icelandic Highlands, was just perfect.

For dessert, the Mandarin & Almonds was a sweet end to the meal. The almond cake was super tasty, and the mandarin mousse was light and fresh.

The service at Fröken Reykjavik was outstanding, especially thanks to Kristina and Maria! They were both wonderful, making sure everything was perfect and that my experience was memorable. Fröken Reykjavik is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food and warm hospitality. I can’t...

Had 2 dinners here... very pleased with almost everything... there is complimentary appetisers from the kitchen... for the complimentary bread, I like the sweet bread more than the sour dough bread... the scallop starter was good flavour wise but presentation wise, I would have preferred 3 medium size ones compared to 5 tiny ones... the fried oyster mushroom side was a little too salty for my preference... the hip of lamb with blue berry sauce was amazing... one of the best lamb I have had in Iceland... paired with Trapiche 2019 Malbec, totally awesome... the Mandrain and almond cake dessert was really nice too... the ambience of the restaurant was really cosy... the staff are really friendly and pay attention to details... overall a very good...
