Killians Restaurant is located very well at Fort Kochi & has an excellent almost , open air setting with the entrance fully open .
However the goodness ends there , with one of the worst possible service as It took more than one hour to get the food for a group of french tourists with me .
The worst part was the arrogance of the staff when on phone I asked to be connected with the owner so that I could give a feedback ,& he said the owner is not available , which is ok, but the haughtiness of the reply was when I asked for the name of the person answering, the reply given in Malayalam was " perilla " which means he has no name & then disconnected the line .
This arrogance has no parallel & this place is in serious need of training for its staff .
Maybe the owner is also least bothered as the location brings in the business whatever way he or she runs it & that's why the staff probably takes liberties to give replies like this !!
The french tourists were equally furious that they had to wait for one hour for the food & the Tour leader said "No tips" for such bad service .
It's such a sad state that such a well located restaurant offers such shoddy service & it's a disgrace to Keralan hospitality as can be seen from similar reviews posted online some of which are in contrast as well .
Quite a mystery on how the same Restaurant gives such totally discordant notes !! So take the risk & if they are in a good mood you might get good food &...
Read moreWe were booked into this hotel by our travel company in India. Our vacation is based on 4 star accommodation where available on our tour. We stayed one night to see Fort Kochi.|This hotel displays 4 stars!!|Don't expect the normal welcome and smiling staff in this hotel. We felt they were totally disinterested. Our room 201 smelled of drains and the a/c was very difficult to control, possibly because the batteries in the control were flat.|Amenities in room included a china pot with 2 loose teabags and a coffee sachet. The bathroom had a single , part-used toilet roll, 1 tiny shampoo bottle and 2 small hotel soaps with 2 bath and 2 hand towels.|Breakfast was awful, not at all like the usual ample choice buffet. Only enough cereal on the buffet for perhaps 4 diners and staff watching like hawks to make sure you didn't take too much we felt. Cut fruit was provided in the form of unripe orange melon that was too hard to eat. Omelette was offered, hard boiled eggs, toast, chicken sausage and 2 local dishes were also on the buffet. The only fruit juice was warm pineapple. |It's possibly one of the best hotels in Kochi fort we were told, I'd hate to stay in the others if that...
Read moreStaying in Killians was one of the finest experiences of staying in Fort Kochi, with its stunning interiors and touches of antiquity its sure a place one shouldn't miss out while your at Fort Kochi. Situated very close to the boat jetty, it's in a very comfortable setting in terms of location and presence. Tons of shops, restaurants and spot are all across the place. The hotel itself is secluded inside with amazing rooms and spacious interiors. Much of the wood and the furniture are very soothing to the eyes. The room, bathrooms and the space as such was very good and presented neat and tidy. For elderly people, there is lifts all across the floor for easy entry and exit, along with a wonderful swimming pool and ample parking space. The restaurant serves delicious buffet breakfast and room orders. Overall it's a wonderful place to stay while your at Fort Kochi and don't miss out on the trip in your car to Vipen as you can take the ferry back and Killians is right by the corner. A big thanks to the staff and crew who received us at the reception and for the...
