I usually avoid writing negative reviews about anything unless something is at its worst best. I am sorry Kwality, but seriously we had a bad bad experience. We the group of four, decided to have biriyani on 17.06.2024 @ Indian Restaurant while returning from Netaji Indoor Stadium after an event, upon arriving we found it close for Bakri Eid and choose to dine @ Kwality, Park Street. We got our table and staffs greeted us well, since we were craving biriyani, we checked if Biriyani is available or not, after getting a confirmation we ordered Chicken Kebab as starter, after sometime while waiting for the starter to be served we asked the manager who confirmed us abt the availability of Biriyani, to take our main course order and obviously we ordered 3 mughlai (mutton) Biriyani & 1 Chicken Biriyani and then only he said, they were exhausted with Biriyani, we literally didn’t expect that and we asked why he affirmed us before placing the order and said since we placed the order of starter already thus in respect of food we shall not cancel it however we would prefer not to come here again and found Kareem’s Park Street was open and decided to have biriyani there, upon hearing this or may be from hospitality point of the view the same manager asked 30 minutes of time and said they will prepare it fresh for us, we found the gesture warming and decided to wait and place the biriyani order and after few mnz we got our kebabs served, it was delicious, chicken pieces were soft n juicy and the green chutney complemented the kebab very well, shall give it 9/10. Since we liked it and waiting for the biriyani to be prepared we ordered Fish Tikka Kebab, fish was fresh & taste wise good enough to get 8/10. After sometime, we got our show stopper biriyani, we also ordered chicken bhuna and it also came along, two of the service person, came to serve the items and finally we got the biriyani on our plates. But the joy short lived and probably we got the worst ever Biriyani, better to say Ghee Bhaat mixed with aroma less, tasteless masalas or whatever and served with fried potato, egg and a chunk of mutton / 2 chunks of chicken. Mutton n chicken pieces were good and nicely cooked, however the overall biriyani experience was horrible, on top of that the chicken bhuna tasted like what was that served on our plates… staffs asked how was the food, we reciprocated good as a courtesy and simply just gulped somehow and asked the leftover items to be packed and bills, it was around 2800 something and we paid through dine out and got some discount from the app and paid around 2450. Prices are reliable, staffs are good, service is good but time taking but it was the taste of the food, not have that consistency one must expect from a premium restaurant. I will never recommend biriyani from here and also sides, however kebabs are highly recommended, we didn’t have deserts due to the ill experience we had thus no comments abt the deserts. I hope the management will improve the food quality to match the name Kwality to...

.Kwality Restaurant Kolkata

Mr.Pishori Lal Lamba and Mr.Iqbal Ghai, two young friends from Lahore, opened a shop named Kwality at Connaught Place Delhi in 1940 to sell hand-made ice-cream. In 1952 the brand opened Kwality on Park Street in Kolkata and followed it up with another branch in 1956 at Gariahat (Ballygunj Phari). The Kolkata operations were started by Mr Prem Nath Ghai and then Mr Baldev Ghai joined the business in 1958.Kwality Restaurant Kolkata is currently headed by the third generation of the Ghai family Mr Rajiv Ghai.

Kwality Kolkata like the Delhi flagship started as a tea room serving Sandwiches, Coffee and Ice Cream before it became a full fledged Restaurant in 1955. They serve up North Indian, Tandoori, Continental & Chinese Cuisine. The Pindi chana, whose recipe P.L.Lamba had picked up from a street vendor in Mussoorie, still owes its rich dark hue to the tea leaves, which are added to the secret whole spices that are added to the chana when it is pressure cooked after being soaked in water overnight. The bhatura served with it has to puff up and remain that way till consumed by the guest. If the bhatura doesn’t puff up it is not bought to the table. Some of their Signature Dishes : Pindi Channa Dal Makhani Paneer Butter Masala Chicken Reshmi Kebab Fish Masala Kebab Chicken Bharta Chicken Reshmi Butter Masala Tutti Frutti

Kwality Kolkata has recently introduced for the very first time the Chelo Biryani in three varieties Maharaja, Mutton & Chicken, with the Maharaja Chelo Biryani being the show stopper featuring Mutton Chicken & Fish Kebabs. I tried a few starters as well! The Murgh Purani Dilli is delectable melt in the mouth chicken marinated in secret spices, cream and clarified butter cooked to perfection. The Tandoori Prawns are bomb and so is the Masala Fish which is 2 thick fillets of bhetki marinated in Indian spices and cooked in the tandoor. One of their star preparation is the Paneer Malai Kebab. Being I non vegetarian, I urge you to try this dish because the paneer is so soft that is just melts in your mouth. It's cooked with cream and cheese.

The hospitality has always been made a priority and hence taken care of. The pricing is reasonable compared to the quality and quantity of food being served. The dishes are scrumptious and delectable. They serve liquor too! Do visit to try out their new additions as well as their classic dishes.

We a family of 10 pax went to Kwality on 25th Dec 2019 @ 8:30 pm. Before coming we had requested for reserving a table and were told that they do not take reservation, it is first cum first serve. We had to wait outside till 9:30 pm till we cud get a table for 10, which is understood being 25th Dec. We ordered 3 chicken sizzler, 4 mutton Biryani, 1 chicken fried rice with chilly chicken, 2 butter nan with malai kofta. After 20 mins we were told sizzler will take time ..on asking we were told 15 mins so we informed we r willing to wait...but serve the other dishes..which they say was ready. after 40 mins around 10:10 nothing appeared so we called the waiter. He said they r running short of chicken so only veg sizzler was possible. How annoying.. they realised this after 40 mins? we said give us 2 veg sizzler but at least make 1 chicken sizzler,, but what about the other dishes which were ready 15 mins ago? they promised to serve the other dishes .. but we were waiting till 10:40 ..when we started losing patience. around 10:50 , 2 veg sizzler and 1 chicken sizzler was served.. but nothing about the other dishes which were supposed to be ready much before. On our surprise we realised the veg sizzler which were heavily prices 395/- pp, in one of the dish the veg cutlet didnt appear. we r not regulars at Kwality , and since in one it was appearing , we presumed they have missed in the other one. When the waiter was called , he vehemently denied saying cutlet was served in both..meaning somewhere between the kitchen and our table the other was lost. Till the the other dishes biryani, fried rice etc were not served. Can u imagine after more than an hour? Around 11 the other dishes were served. To our utter dismay the portions and quality was disgusting and the attitude of the waiter was he has given us more than expected. Our mood for the evening which was late night at that point was totally spoilt. There was no supervision from senior staff even though he was summoned. It is painful and rightly understood why people poorly rate...
