Hebbar’s Heritage Home, is a Century old heritage property nestled in Mumbai’s historic Fort area. Started by Mr Suresh Hebbar from Udupi, also had Modern Hindu Hotel, was frequented in those days by who’s who of cinema, cricket, business and politics. Even to date it’s used by many brands for ad shoots and movie shoots. This is such a hidden gem! It's centrally located in the leafy, walkable neighborhood and very affordable. We booked a private room with shared bathroom. It was simple and clean with nice, historic details. When looking through Lonely Planet for Hotels in Mumbai I only saw options that were expensive or unpleasantly sterile – we were so excited to find this option! It's not fancy, but if you're seeking something with value, location, and character – this is it! There is also a shared common room and a shared kitchen.

We had an 11pm flight back to the US and they kindly allowed us to store our luggage there for the day. The shared bathroom vs. bathroom in the room ended up being a huge bonus as we were even able to shower before our long flight (amazing after a full day of sightseeing...

A hidden gem that transports you back to old times of Bombay with its rustic look and old-school charm, but delivers on all services & amenities. The vintage property is perfect for solo traveller's looking for a clean, budget stay, although price is a bit hiked but doesn't pinch coz the location is so prime and convenient. All eateries, major attractions are nearby and easily accessible from here.
