My husband and I stayed at the Family Guest House in Ubud for 2 weeks and would definitely return. The nightly cost of a room is so low, especially when you get to stay in such a lovely traditional environment.|Itâs a beautiful, genuine Balinese family compound with a temple, small shrines for daily offerings, delightful incense set all about the property, and lush gardens everywhere. |The rooms are like private bungalows and we had a huge 2nd floor room, private bathroom plus a large veranda in back facing a bamboo forest. So it was shielded from the sun and rain, and we had a delightful breeze. |And nature - birds, roosters - made us feel that we were in a jungle yet so close to Ubud and all it offers.|There is no air-con but we were perfectly fine with fans.|We saw couples and singles here. Itâs good for both and safe and calming. They offer massages here as well.|The Guest House is on a side street, easy walking distance to town center, peaceful, and the street itâs on has numerous warungs, laid-back restaurants, clothing stores, tailors. We liked the location very much. |WiFi was very dependable throughout the property, including our room.|Breakfast was included w room price and delicious, starting with fresh, chopped fruit and choice of eggs or pancakes, coffee, tea. They fill up your water bottles for a small charge.|The beautiful owner, Nyoman, certainly operates a top-notch guest house. We were even invited to a family wedding they had next door, but my husband wasnât on board so we didnât attend. But we were actually invited!|They even help with transport and excursions and the prices are comparable to other places.|And the staff! They are all so professional, kind, caring. I must say how much I appreciated meeting Iluh, who corresponded with me through emails. She was exceptionally kind and lovely and so helpful. Iâll miss her.|So! We highly recommend the Family Guest House....
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful homestay for a couple of months, and it truly felt like home. Itâs located on one of the four central streets of Ubud, right in the heart of the town, surrounded by wonderful restaurants and vibrant life. Despite being in a busy area, the rooms are tucked away from the street, offering peace and quiet.
The garden is absolutely stunningâlush, green, and full of life. Stepping outside your room, you feel immersed in nature, yet youâre just moments from the buzz of Ubudâs center. The homestay is part of a traditional Balinese family compound, complete with a family temple and beautifully crafted buildings in authentic style.
What makes this place truly special is the family who runs it. They are incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly. Their warmth and hospitality made my stay unforgettable.
Everything is kept clean and tidy, and the peaceful ambiance of the garden makes it easy to relax and recharge. Whether youâre staying short or long term, this place offers a unique blend of culture, comfort, and community. Highly...
Read moreI can't recommend Family Guesthouse, Ubud highly enough. I stayed here for 9 nights, as a solo female traveller on my first trip to Bali and was made to feel incredibly welcome. It is set in a beautiful family home with traditional temple and Nyoman and her family are so kind and really made me feel part of the family. On a number of occasions, Nyoman would cook me traditional Balinese food for lunch or dinner (which she didn't charge me for) and I also visited her family restaurant and watched a traditional Balinese dance show.||Each of the rooms is an individual bungalow, with it's own porche/terrace perfect for sitting out on in the evening. My room itself was very comfortable, with a huge bed and a shower in the bathroom that opened up onto a beautiful view outside.||The guesthouse is a short walk away from all the hustle and bustle of ubud and it is very easy to get anywhere local. They will help you with transport too. It would be the perfect place for individuals, couples...
