Ordered nasi campur, gili chilli option with 2 protein, 2 veg and 2 sides. Perfect portion. Everything very tasty. Sambal also tasty and the owner said they will increase the spicyness level, so will come back to try that too. Everything halal, freshly made with good authentic Indonesian flavours, not spicy but as mentioned they will make the sambal options more spicy.

Had taro cinnamon almond drink as dessert, tasted delicious like klepon. They have almond and oat milk as plantbased milk options.

Free hot water refill for tea.

Service 4/5, atmosphere 5/5, but food is honestly 2/5. I came with high expectations due to reviews. For a restaurant with a name such as ‘Sambal Society’, I’d expect them to have a wide variety of sambal, but they only offer three types and none of them are spicy — something that sambal is highly associated with. The food lacks taste; it seems they're too shy with spices — the kind of shyness you get from being afraid of criticism from those with foreign tastes who don’t know the wonderful world of spices.

i thought the food was gonna live up to their name, sambal. but im not sure 🤔 because they tasted really bland, both the dish and sambal.

its good to go when you like healthier choices of indonesian food, i can see they practice their hygiene while cooking and the food isnt greasy.

the portion is also a bit small, could be improved!
