GENIO by twist — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

We were looking for a place on Saturday night in Ubud because we had nowhere booked and were pleasantly surprised to find a place so well rated that was pretty much empty, we soon found out why. The people who left positive reviews either have not had any Italian food or were only there to take Instagram pictures of the food and not eat.

We ordered a garlic bread and a tomato bruschetta, a margherita pizza and aglio e olio pasta and with the exception of the pizza that was at least edible once we added tons of seasoning, everything else tasted of absolutely nothing.

The pasta sauce was pooling at the bottom of the plate and the dish did not taste like garlic and chilli at all. I had to keep mixing it constantly because the sauce did not bind to the pasta and it seemed like it was not even drained properly and just dumped on the plate and in the end I just abandoned it.

The bruschetta and garlic bread were three pieces of barely toasted bread each - the toppings were not even at all and you could immediately tell that the restaurant puts no care in preparing their food. We had to order a burrata (which again came with no seasoning) so we could use the bruschetta and garlic bread as frankly what they were -...

We order grab with them and after make us wait for two hours they decided to cancel it because "there weren't available drivers", not any explanation, not any message. While trying to put a proper complaint in the app, as there were drivers because we ordered from a different restaurant with a different account, I come here to not recommend them as customers service should be prioritised

Edit answer: no, you didn't cancelled after some minutes because there weren't a driver, you cancel after 2 hours when you were closing the restaurant, and that's the reason you gave, which it wasn't true. I told you, it was a priority order, and if you cancel after some minutes it's not a problem, the problem is make the customers wait without any answer or solution from your side, I have screenshots of the whole process. I had two meals here. The pepperoni pizza is OK. Not a lot of cheese or pepperoni, crust is quite thin, but it wasn’t very expensive. The second meal I ate here was Eggs Benedict, this was better than the pizza, however, mushrooms do not belong on Eggs Benedict. Adding a salad was a nice touch. I would have eaten here every day of the 7 days I was here, but after eating here twice they advised they would not fill my water bottle with drinking water again. You would think they would do the math. My bottle of water would cost under 1500 Rupiah to fill as they buy water in 16 litre bottles. They would make much more on lunches and dinners I ate there. Oh well, I quickly found another restaurant that filled my bottle twice now with a smile, I’ll be going there...
