We live in Bali almost 5 years and I can say that it’s truly one of the best Indian street food restaurants in Bali. Defiantly the best in Ubud.
👌🏻Ambience: Very cozy atmosphere, giving Indian vibes with attention to details: from interior design and furniture to cutleries and music. Everything is very modern, stylish and in the same time with traditional touch.
👌🏻Food is heavenly delicious! It’s not spicy if you want to. Menu is rich in different options: for vegetarian and not. The dough of samosa is just incredibly tasty. We love “I Am Chaat”, “Chicken Samosa”, “Vegeterian Samosa”, “Pani Puri”, “Ice Ice Puri”, Mango and Dragon fruit Lassi, masala chai.
Separately I’d like to highlight the taste of sauces - they are just amazing. Those which are added inside dishes and those that are given separately. They are very gentle in taste, sweet and sour at the same time, leaving a beautiful aftertaste in your mouth.
After this good you feel good and light instead of heavy.
Also, they have bonus system for loyal clients: you can receive and redeem points.
I highly recommend this place to anyone willing to try something amazing made with love in Indian...
Read moreNeed legit homemade chai (not commercialised chai tea latte)? CHAI-CARAMBA -- COME HERE FOLKS. I'm always on the hunt for good homemade chai that's boiled to perfection with just the right amount of milk and masalas and I got that here. I'll be back for more chai!
We also ordered their Papdi Chaat, Something Emping (chaat but with emping crisps and chicken), and Paani Puri. Their Papdi Chaat was delicious and the Something Emping was an interesting combination of flavours that I would have again. They were generous with their Paani Puri (about 12 Puris) and their potato stuffing was tasty.
The setup is really cute with pillows all around. Plug points at every table too, making it conducive to plug in to charge if you need. Reliable strong WiFi. It's a small corner store with minimal seats. I enjoyed the vibe here on my Sunday...
Read moreI so wanted to like this place given the owners’ history and thoughtfulness. Alas, it was not to be the case, so a hard pass.
My initial impression was not off to a good start as I was the only customer, yet the staff took almost 10 minutes to clean the few tables and get me seated.
I had pani puri, bhel puri and chai. Other than the puris, the entire dish lacked any of the combination of sweet and tangy. Moreover there was no pani, which is the essence of pani puri.
The bhel puri was also meh, more like masala peanuts instead.
Lastly, I repeatedly asked the server if the chai had any sugar and the response was no it has no sugar. Lo and behold, it has sugar and I left it unfinished, yet they still charged me for it.
It seems like they use a pre-made chai mix, similar to the ones found at Starbucks, rather than...
