Sahadewa Resort & Spa — Hotel in Pulau Bali

I really wish I could recommend this hotel but I just can’t. The staff are excellent and go above and beyond, the breakfast is delicious and the location is great. However, the rooms are tired, stale smelling, tidy but not clean (due to age more than a lack of effort). The shower has no pressure and doesn’t get hot so you’re washing under a luke warm trickle (we changed rooms but the issue remained). The pool was overdosed on chemicals and caused my hair to turn a lovely shade of blue/green and my skin to itch. This is a tropics environment so some bugs etc in the room are expected but there were a lot and we itched all night. The AC is old and perhaps needs a regas but in both rooms is froze over, stopped working and poured water everywhere. There are many excellent budget options in Ubud, unfortunately this...

This hotel was rather spacious with a huge table and nicely spaced out beds. The style of the hotel is quite traditional with a lot of Balinese influence. The breakfast was alright, but it is not a buffet style. Wifi here is slow and will not be suitable for working. The staff are kind and will help out with most things including removing insects and providing power adaptors.

Showers here are not all separated by a wall. Some rooms only have a curtain separating the shower area from the bed. There is no door to the washroom either. The main door is terribly inconvenient as it is locked with a pad lock from the outside but only a latch on the inside! We only stayed here one night so cannot comment on a full experience. The appearance was very quirky compared to anywhere else we stayed which was really refreshing and lovely. Staff were very polite and helpful. The pool looked nice but both times we saw it it had not been cleaned out (we didnt have time to use it anyway and wasnt a biggy. They provided. Couple of bottles of water in the fridge which was nice. It was also our honeymoon and they laid out a lovely towel decoration with rose petals and a rose which was lovely. The only negative we had about the room was the mosquito net was not closed and when we arrived there were a couple of mosquitos in our room which got inside the netting. Would...
