Il Capri Hotel — Hotel in Capri

We stayed at this Hotel for 2 days in September. Our friend made the reservation via another travel platform. After paying 600 plus euros per night, we were under the impression that we would have stayed at a 5 stars hotel (for TripAdvisor4 stars).||But, to our surprise, the tiny room (upgraded!!!) that they gave us, had: ||- N​O safe, - N​O fridge, - N​O TV!!! Unbelievable??? The same applied to our friend's room.||The bird cage closet for our clothes, was half full of advertising clothing for sale.||The bath had N​O amenities at all - not even Q-tips, but it was stocked again with creams-soaps, snacks (ok!) etc, for sale!!||They even sponsored a sex toy!!! (photos of all above available on request).||And if you did not have your own slippers, Yes!, they were selling their own for 160 euros.||Apparently, we rented a small boutique not a Hotel room.||Even a 3 stars small Hotel offers you some basic amenities. I strongly wonder how the Italian authorities issue the stars.||The staff were extremely polite and friendly and were trying to please us under these circumstances.||Two hours after my strong complains, they called to tell me they "found" a safe! and asked if I wanted it.||And three hours later they also "found" a fridge and asked me again if I wanted it. ||I declined to both. I used my suitcase as a safe and drunk warm water. And of course, NOT a word about NOT having a TV in the room. ||Crazy? Unbelievable??...Yes!||Avoid it!!! It...

I am still under shock by the behavior of this hotel. Clearly the only interest this establishment has is for your money and they will to steal from you.

In my case I had a problem regarding my reservation: my cancellation remained in my drafts by accident and when I found out, I immediately called and emailed to explain the issue along with the mail ....that was exactly on the the 21 day prior arrival.

Despite many emails and calls / the hotel has remained absolutely inflexible and refused to trade for another stay, service or to find a middle ground arrangement. Instead il capri hotel cashed in the full amount of 1200€ against no service at all and with plenty of time to relocate that room - which they probably did as this hotel was in fact hosting for a large wedding during these exact dates. This is so far from what one should expect from a 5star service - especially in the hospitality business...words for words here is what how their manager replied...

"we are just doing our job. Also May 14th was the 20th day prior to your arrival, in fact we sent all the deposit requests for other reservations. You could have cancelled the reservation with no penalty from February to May 13th included."

No need to say how I feel about this place. Pretty sure I'd be out of business if I was "just doing my work" the way they...
