Ristorante Isidoro — Restaurant in Capri

Unfortunately, this is the lowest option available. I would have given a lower one.

Expensive, bad food, atrocious service, dishonest, and uncomfortable for customers in case of a disagreement.

We stopped by Isadora for lunch (first customers at round noon) and ordered Mediterranean Salad (€24 !!!) and a Marinara Pizza.

The salad was “old” and appeared to have been made the day before or sometime very early in the morning. The pizza arrived after 30 mins of placing the order and it was cold!!

When we complained to the waiter he said the salad was fresh, which was clearly not true; he offered to replace the pizza with a new one. We waited another 15 mins after which he brought back the same pizza with a slice missing (the one I had cut into) and the 4 basil leaves on top were now burnt black.

We got up to leave but they expected us to pay for the dishes. I asked for the bill and it came with 12.5% service charge. I refused to pay that and asked for it to be taken off. The waiter argued rudely with me took away the bill and brought back a new bill for the same total amount, this time instead of the service charge the amount had been listed as a “cover charge”.

The ensuing argument was not a pleasant experience.

We paid and left in a hurry. We complained to our credit card company, who told us to leave the matter with them to sort out and gave us a full refund!

This restaurant had one of the worst services I have ever received any where in the world. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:15 (time of the day that restaurant is dead in Capri). We were seated right away and we were waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, keep in mind there were only customers at 4 tables out of the 10+ tables in the restaurant. We wanted to start our order right away, and the server was no where to be found. When we finally got his attention, we placed our order and the server rudely asked us to move to a smaller table. When I asked what is the problem he mentioned that our party is not big enough for table of 4 (we reiterated that the rest of our party is walking to the restaurant and we are just ordering some food to start). At this point, due to the rudeness of the server we were very fed up with their service so we just decided not to tolerate this behaviour and left. People of Capri are wonderful and if you go to any other restaurant you will have a positive experience. In our experience, we would recommend customers to look at other options. Ristorante Isidoro offers a solid dining experience in the heart of Capri. The food was good—well-prepared and flavorful, with a menu that covers classic Italian staples and fresh seafood. It’s not the most inventive cuisine on the island, but it delivers on quality and taste.

Service stood out as above average compared to many other spots in Capri. The staff were attentive, efficient, and friendly, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere.

Pricing was what you’d expect for a tourist-heavy area—comparable to other restaurants around the island. Not a bargain, but fair given the location and quality.

Speaking of location, it’s right in the middle of the action, which means it can feel a bit hectic. With a steady flow of foot traffic just outside, it’s not the most tranquil setting, but it’s great for people-watching and soaking in the buzz of Capri life.
