"I had a terrible experience at Shibuya sushi restaurant in Sicily. I was keen to try some fresh fish while Sicily has plenty and since I was away from my hotel, I asked if I could charge my phone so I wouldn't get lost on the way back. There was a lot of discussion about charging cables, and the woman who seemed to be the manager didn't answer my question. Fortunately, a very nice young waitress tried to interpret for me. I eventually got a table and ordered a beer and two different dishes. The woman kept trying to push me to order more and more, which made me uncomfortable.
The food took an incredibly long time to come, and when it finally arrived, it was missing the soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger. When I asked for them, the server acted like it was unusual to request these condiments in a sushi restaurant, and it took him ages to come back with them. By the time I tried the first bite, I realized that something was very wrong. The fish tasted extremely bad and made me feel sick. I went back to the bar, told the manager and waitress what had happened, and asked to pay and leave immediately. However, the manager was being very slow and kept asking why I wanted to leave, even though the other waitress was translating for her. It took almost 10 minutes for the ginger to arrive, while I was still at the bar trying to convince the woman that I want to pay and leave. I felt very frustrated and disrespected that the manager didn't even check the food yet charged me the full amount.
Overall, the service and hygiene at this restaurant were extremely poor. The menu and everything around the restaurant looked dirty, and there was a stack of fish piled up outside the fridge for a long time, which made me concerned about the sanitary...
Read moreGreat Chinese; Fresh Ingredients- ALL YOU CAN EAT!!! Looking for a cool spot to hang in Catania? This is one classy joint! For one low Price you can eat ALL NIGHT (as long as you adhere to the “Clean your Plate” Rule!) The service is Fast, the food is Fresh, the atmosphere is Trendy! I LOVED that the building is an Old World repurposed Italian structure that’s been partially updated; yet you can still see the original stones peeking thru everywhere. It’s a beautiful site! Not sure if they also have a club going after hours or if it was a club at one time maybe? How it’s set up inside hints to that. Definitely check this place out if you are tired of the paninis n pizza!! Great change of pace with fresh local ingredients!! Parking is a challenge but it’s well worth the hassle; outside seating is...
