B&B Tourist House Battistero — Hotel in Florence

2 positives for this place: location is Great as it is walking distance to all the main attractions; the 2 people we encountered were helpful & friendly. That where the positives end. One cannot simply call this property luxury. The rooms are basic as can be, the tiled bathroom is in need of good scrubbing, toileries didn’t Even include lotion - lucklily, I always pack my own. The RÉAL pain point though was breakfast. NO WHERE can it be found that breakfast is a good 12 minute walk to another hôtel! I paid for breakfast for all 4 nights but did not /could not make it there. Transparency of info is KEY & this Little pièce of information was vital bec One has to Incorporate it into the day’s agenda. It was in the opposite direction of where we had planned to go. Coffee, tea & water is allo in another room - in the common area. Last but not the least, if you book here, request any room BUT room 1. Room 1 which is where we stayed is actually outsider of the résidenza right by the elevator. At all hours of the night, you will hear the gâte bang close as folks go in & out AND you can hear the crowd on the street in spite of the face that there are dual Windows. This hôtel is set up moré like an airbnb than a hôtel. The host will meet you at the Time of your arrival so this has to be communicated otherwise, no One will let you into the building and give you the instructions (codes) for all the...

Con.Seems this place is under a new name, numerous properties. Similar experience after reviewing these reviews, after the fact. Arthur helped us, as well as Frederick. Mixed numbers on what’s app they insisted I use when I prefer iPhone. No communication amongst their staff, seems to be a racket of who checks you in and such. ||Room not ready at checkin despite responding to their emails on my exact arrival time. I had to wait in the small hallway with the checkin man for room to be cleared, 20 minutes. It was gross and hot. A/c didn’t work properly. I called and they control it from a computer remotely. Ongoing issue with 95 degrees. I asked for no housekeeping and they ignored, housekeeping came in and moved my belongings. They then blamed housekeeping for not understanding, when it was 2 different men not making sure my request was honored. No lights in hallways, felt very unsafe. Person checking us in was rude. The actual room was very small, only 24 inches from end of bed to door, no place for luggage. ||Very unsafe situation. Rip off experience. And odd they have property Residenza Maglioni al Bargello linked with this property. But not seperate.worse hotel experience in 15 days. Was a poorly managed Airbnb...

We stayed in Florence in August 2025 with our son at B&B Residenza Maglioni. We were greeted by a very friendly young man who explained everything to us, gave us a map with recommendations on what to see, where to eat, and the best spots to take beautiful sunset photos. We were even given our room right away, despite arriving much earlier than expected.

The room was beautifully furnished, spotless, and had a spacious, exceptionally clean bathroom. The location of B&B Residenza Maglioni is simply brilliant — within just three minutes of leaving our room, we were already standing in front of the cathedral at Piazza del Duomo.

That day was a wonderful experience for us: exploring the city, enjoying dinner — and all the recommendations proved perfect, especially the dinner in a less touristy part of town with a more local atmosphere, across the river.

Finally, the next day, when we were already traveling far from Florence, we realized we had left one of our bags in the room. The staff safely packed it and sent it to us. A huge thank you — we’ll definitely be...
