The response below from the manager is disappointing, as she is suggesting this is a fake review which it is not, and only reinforces the fact, this hotel is in need of help. ORIGINAL REVIEW; Recently, I stayed at this hotel for 3 days on vacation: “The Cerretani Hotel Firenze” . I also just returned from a business trip at the “Four Seasons Resort Bali At Sayan” where I worked with the managers of the hotel, as a “Life Coach for Managerial Staff”. My company coaches’ hotel managers, and Fortune 500 Business managers worldwide. I am a “Life Coach” for managers and upper staff, and I am contracted by the upper management of these firms to help them create a positive, working environment for their employees, by coaching the managerial staff of these businesses. My company is located in NYC and Los Angeles. With that being said, The Hotel Cerretani Firenze could use someone’s help. I have never seen a more downtrodden staff throughout a hotel than I have at this hotel. The staff is unhappy, never smiling. They seem as if they are managed by a controlling, angry manager. I made it a point, to place myself in the lobby of this hotel and observe the staff on three occasions. As I suspected, the front desk staff is miserable, and so I set out to discover who the manager was. As I observed her, and as I suspected, her demeanor and unpleasant attitude is the cause of this misery. She marches behind them, like a Staff Sergeant waiting for them to make a mistake, no acknowledgement or eye contact, and this is why her front desk staff, and even the cafeteria staff, seem very uptight, and robotic, with no genuine smiles or relaxed, friendly attitudes. The Manager is responsible for the attitude of the staff, and she seems “old school” in her management skills.

Basic rules in making employees and staff work their best are;

  1. Build them up with genuine concern. 2) Encourage them, let them know they are doing a good job. 3) Compliment them.
  2. Smile at them and look into their eyes. Use words that are specific, appreciative, and recognize their unique contributions. This will build self-esteem in the staff, and they will be a much happier, positive group of employees.

I am incognito with this letter, as I do not need this hotels business and my company is worldwide. However, the owners and management who oversees this hotel: “CDL Hospitality Trust” (owners) and “The Events Hotels Group” (managers) had better do something quick because this hotels staff is crashing hard! I will not be staying at this hotel again! On a positive note, the room we stayed in was nice, clean and well arranged, but the staff is what truly makes a hotel stay pleasurable, and due to the manager, it...

I spent 6 nights at this wonderful hotel while visiting Florence and the surrounding area.

You could not ask for a better location for a hotel while staying in Florence.

Arriving in Florence by train, the Santa Maria Novella train station is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. Tip, there is an underground walkway that you can take from the outside of the station. One of the exits is at Piazza dell ‘Unita Italiana (there is an Obelisk in the square). The underground walkway and exit ramp make it far easier to transport your wheeled luggage to the hotel.

The hotel entrance is on the busy Via de’ Cerretani. Piazza del Duomo is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Piazza della Signoria is a 10-minute walk. Most of the top sights to see in Florence are within a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

Hotel staff service throughout my stay was welcoming, warm, and professional.

My room was very spacious, modern, and comfortable. The view from my room was nothing special.

The was no outside room noise that was bothersome during mu stay.

The bed was very comfortable and was great to sleep in after a long day of exploring the city.

The bathroom and shower were great, with a good selection of toiletries.

The room came with a large closet, a coffee/espresso machine, and a safe that can accommodate a 14” laptop. The room fridge had enough space to store my own water bottles.

There were plenty of tv channels in Italian, with few options in other languages. The Wi-Fi signal strength was good and stable.

The desk was small but large enough to be able to use my laptop.

The hotel breakfast was very good. Food selection was diverse, with the option of ordering your own eggs style.

In summary, I had a wonderful stay at the hotel and am glad that I have chosen it as my accommodation during my stay...

First of all…All the staff was super polite, kind and always with a smile ready to assist you and that’s the spirit of the hospitality and the most important thing! The room was very clean and warm with a nice decor and all a the comforts! Anything that a tourist needs in a stay will be in the room! The bed was so comfy and that’s exactly what you need after a long day of strolling around in the city the sheets was smelling freshness as well the towels .. also the bathroom was very clean and comfortable again with all the details and the stuff that you will need! The mirrors in the bathroom was a surprise… is everything that a woman needs!!! Mini bar is also great you have your own coffee machine to start your day and a fridge if you need anything! The breakfast was also excellent.. you have plenty of choices for drinks salty and sweet stuff and the quality of food was great..I was impressed by the honeycomb!!! Cerretani hotel has the best location 1 min walk from the cathedral! You can go everywhere by foot! Again I would like to mention the staff that made our stay unforgettable!! The most important thing in a hotel is the people that work there because they can make your stay memorable and enjoyable! I would like to comeback to Firenze and of course I will definitely stay again in the cerretani Firenze MGallery Hotel as I will suggest to everyone who wants to visit Firenze to stay in this hotel! You will have the best experience of hospitality!! Quality is the word that describes this hotel which is beyond your expectations!!! You will receive good vibes and you will feel welcomed...

My wife and I recently stayed at Hotel Cerretani in Florence for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable place to stay in Florence. The hotel is located in a great location, just a short walk from the Duomo and other major attractions. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they went above and beyond to make our stay special. Sulemon and Davidson were particularly helpful, and they made sure that we had everything we needed during our stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also very spacious and had a great shower. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city, which is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a drink or two. We also had dinner at the hotel's restaurant, which was excellent. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. We would definitely recommend eating at the hotel's restaurant if you have the chance. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Hotel Cerretani and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable place to stay in Florence. In addition to the wonderful staff, we would also like to mention the very nice curly dark haired front desk lady who gave us a great recommendation on where to see a sunset dinner with a view of the city. We followed her recommendation and had a wonderful dinner with a view of the Duomo. We would definitely recommend asking her for recommendations if you are looking for something special.

Background: we stayed 3 nights. This was the third of four hotels on our honeymoon. Pros: +excellent location, very walkable and close to all the major sights. +very generous honeymoon welcome gift: bottle of wine, fruit bowl, chocolates, juice. +Nespresso was provided in the room +at breakfast they had the best yogurt I’ve ever tried. Cons: -worst room of the trip. We were on the 1st floor (not ground floor) and had a view of a pipe. There were multiple, huge dead bugs that were stuck to the wall. Cleanliness was lacking. This was all particularly disappointing given we were on our honeymoon and they knew it. -tattered bath robes, very basic toiletries provided. -while interactions with the female staff were fine, some of the male staff were surprisingly condescending and unprofessional. For instance, one of them felt the need to explain to us how to turn on an electric kettle at their “tea time” in the lobby (not worth checking out) without us asking. -breakfast was lacking. While some of the pastries were good, the hot food and other options could be improved in quality and variety.
