Really unsure what went wrong at Quinoa last night. Based on all reviews and as a coeliac, we were so excited to eat there. Unfortunately our experience is pretty much the opposite of most of the reviews here. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy but it took more than 20 minutes for anyone to come and take our order. The food was, in the main, terrible. The salmon ceviche was so oversalted it was impossible to have more than two mouthfuls, the pad Thai was so sweet it was virtually inedible (tasted more like a cheap Chinese restaurant sweet and sour pork), the two pasta dishes we ordered were dry with undercooked pasta. The quinoa fritters with yoghurt were the pick of the meal but they were average at best. When we went to leave, it took at least ten minutes standing at the register for someone to come and take our payment - all staff were studiously ignoring us and also seemed to be arguing among themselves too. I can only describe it as a bizarre evening with poor service and really...
Read moreExceptional taste that swirls in your mouth for hours, making you feel like you have never had food before in your life. When I ordered Ravioli stuffed with goat cheese in mint sauce, I was curious about their choice of sauce as I don't see it very often in american-italian restaurants. To my surprise, I wanted to try every recipe from their menu. Pad thai ,on the other hand was so delicious in italian blends that I can never have any other kind again in my life. The ristorante has a beautiful, lounge vibe that is upscale but not snobby. The staff are very courteous and attend to every question you have about your food. Being a vegetarian, skepticism about an italian restaurant comes very naturally since veganism is very American. However, Quinoa surpassed all my expectations in terms of place, service, taste and customer service. It is both good and bad as I will never be able to have italian food anywhere else. It has been a heavenly experience and I will...
Read moreMy wife and I had hear about Ristorante Quinoa from a local and decided to give it a shot. We arrived shortly after 8, and were notified we could be seated but why needed to have the table back for a 9:30 reservation, no problem. First off, pretty varied GF beer list. We kept things pretty light, ordered two pasta dishes (clam, truffle). Flavor wise they were great, I was a little surprised the kitchen did not catch that one of the clams in my wife's pasta had not opened (and was thus dead). My dish was very good. For dessert we had a tiramisu, which was fantastic but I wouldn't have really called it a tiramisu.
The service was pleasant, but you could tell they seemed short staffed. They were working hard, running around, but it was on the slow side. That made things a bit more challenging knowing that we needed to give the table up. As a result, we avoided staying for coffee.
Overall, would still go back to try some of their...
