The staff at this B&B are very friendly, and respond quickly to emails. Despite having arranged an arrival time, there was no response from my door bell ring. Eventually, after a half hour on the narrow sidewalk in front, I went into the hotel next door and asked for help. The gal at the desk had obviously been in this position before, she had the right phone numbers at her fingertips, and was very helpful. Needless to say, I was let into the property in minutes. Morale of the story, if you don't have a cell phone, don't book properties without all day reception! For some reason they don't respond to the door bell. (Third time on this trip!). Once in, things got waaaay better! On the top floor of a three story walk up,(there is a primitive elevator, but very scary!). The staff seemed perched up there, friendly enough, but not very engaging. Once in my room, a very clean although dated space with a queen sized bed and a very functional bathroom, I was feeling better. The breakfast is great, and there is a very close bus stop to the downtown area. Not far from the main attractions, and quite comfortable. I would stay here again, after having...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 nights in the hotel. The only good points of the hotel were the location and the breakfast. ||||When we arrived I was stuck in the old fashioned elevator that was totally rubbish. At the reception was an Indian lady that was not speaking English and I could not understand what she was saying to me when she was trying to fix the elevator. The hotel rooms are on the 3rd floor and I advise you after entering the entrance to call he lady to take your luggage with the elevator upstairs. The room had no safe box and it had no space for 2 large suitcases.||||The same lady at the reception tried to rip us off when she proposed to give our car to a partner of her and park it for 25 euros per day because she stated that the parking in front of the hotel was residents only. If you are travelling by car simply don't do it. There is big parking (Parterre) nearby that charges 25 euros for 2 days and it was the cheapest option I found in whole Northern Italy.||||Although the room was facing the road there...

If you arrive to hotel itself by car it becomes the only option (according to personnel) to avoid heavy fines for entering Florence historical center.||Walls were thick enough to keep most of the heat out, but I doubt that there was air conditioning.||Only one room had direct access to the bathroom.||There is a lift (pass stairs when entering), BUT it is small, old and somewhat unsafe. There is no inner door and the wall literally slides by. I would forbid any kid using it.||Few places...
