CHARCUTERIE THE STUFF OF DREAMS! We came here with the express purpose of getting a meat and cheese board and it may have been the best thing I have ever eaten. We got the meat and cheese combination platter for two people which was about 20€ and was more than we could finish, which says lot with our standards. There was pecorino, scarmorza, stracchino and some blue looking cheeses, truffle spread, sun dried tomatoes, prosciutto, mortadella, porcetta, and another salami. I will never forget this meal. The shop was also cute on the inside, friendly and...
Read moreAbsolute gem of a find. Came to this tiny couple-owned restaurant on the word of reviews, and felt a little cautious seeing an empty dining room - our doubts were quickly answered with brilliant, personable service and outstanding food. Expect a short wait for your food, as it seems pastas are at least partially made to order (not finished sauce out of a big pot!) - and the results speak for themselves. Give this little business some love, they deliver gorgeous authentic food with top-notch, generous service - they more than...

Excellent place, affordable and authentic. The owner is a one man army and he does everything. We got the chance to taste the best and cheapest spritz available in Florence (believe me when I say it, I drank at least 2 a day for a week, all over the city). We got the carbonaras and the pesto pastas, both were excellent and big portions. One of the thing I appreciated the most about the Gargantua is the fact that it wasn’t crowded with obnoxious Americans screaming this or that wouldn’t fly in New York. Its a humble, relax and calm little restaurant. Music choices were on point as well, not like some of the competition on...
