The location is the best, the rooftop and its views at any given time, amazing. The staff, Mari, Ina became like a family to me, they are full of warmth & could not do enough for me. Great breakfast every morning, with local specialties, from superb Sicilian lemon jam, to lovely baked goodies from artisan bakers. Gorgeously designed suites, super clean; fluffy towels. Coffee facilities, water in the room. Super quiet when i stayed in March. On the night i was arriving well after midnight, Mari organised the driver, the wonderful Gaetano, a retired caribinieri policeman of some 3 decades, now delux driver, €45 well spent at 1.30am due to the delayed flight, a bonus for solo traveler able to avoid piblic transport at that hour. I took the car to the airport as well €40 during the day, just over half an hour drive. Such small courtesies by a hotel is what also sets them apart. It's walkable to every landmark, opera house Teatro Massimo - 10min walk away; Cathedral, Capo Market - 15; railway station Palermo Centrale easily reached by bus, but i walked it in 20 or so and took the train to beautiful seaside town of Cefalu for s day trip (a must especially La Rocca fortified walls and castle climb for the most amazing views). La Vuccheria is only 2min walk to "home". I will now only stay here in Panto...
Read moreThis was a really disappointing experience. We couldn't sleep for the entire night. Our room faced the backyard, and every time someone walked/talked/opened the door it was extremely loud. We felt like we were sleeping on a highway.
Our room was also pretty dirty, with a smelly/damp bathroom and hair all over the place (bedsheets, towels, floor..). A person came and cleaned it within half an hour (thank you!) but this should not happen at this price point.
Also, the images were misleading. The rooftop terrace is small, and our room was very dark. There is a big freestanding bathe tub but just enough space to put your luggage.
Also keep in mind that it is self-service (an automatic check-in). We had difficulties finding our room, even though we travel a lot. It’s also inaccessible, with a lot of stairs. If you bring heavy luggage, you’ll have difficulties.
The breakfast buffet was also basic, we had to ask for butter because they didn't offer any.
The only outstanding part was the location for us.
Summary: Overpriced, loud, not clean, and disappointing....
Read moreExcellent stay for two weeks. ||The two ladies , Mari and Ena, were very friendly and entertaining and provided excellent advice on restaurants frequented by locals (which were excellent while being reasonably priced (try Frida for a great pizza), what to visit, and how to navigate the city. They also frequently brought us special treats and a cake for my wife's birthday! Every morning was a pleasure.||Most of the attractions are within a 15 minute walk. ||The accommodations were very clean and of a unique modern design. ||The location is on the top floor and breakfast was served on the rooftop terrace with a good view. During our stay an elevator was being installed!||The breakfast was typical sicilian, plentiful with lots of sweets, but enough other choices | for those watching their diets. Coffee was very good and kept flowing.||There is only one negative to the location. Loud pounding music is played most nights nearby from about 11:00 p.m to 2:00 a.m. We needed to wear ear plugs which...
