We had the most incredible four-night stay at Quintocanto Hotel & Spa to kick off our Sicilian honeymoon in Palermo—and we already can’t wait to return! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by Andrea, the manager, and the entire team, whose hospitality was thoughtful and genuine throughout our stay.||||The location is truly unbeatable—right in the heart of Palermo’s historic center, on a quiet stretch just off Via Vittorio Emanuele, the city’s grand main street. We were just steps from Quattro Canti, the Cattedrale di Palermo, Piazza Pretoria, the Teatro Massimo, and countless churches, fountains, palaces, cafes, and gelaterias. We could walk to everything—whether it was exploring hidden alleyways, visiting iconic landmarks, or dining at charming trattorias. We were lucky to visit during the Santa Rosalia festival, which filled the city with joyful energy, music, and processions—adding a touch of magic to the experience.||||Our room—319—was a dream, and in our opinion, the best in the hotel. With a private balcony overlooking the Duomo, we enjoyed morning coffees and evening wine surrounded by breathtaking views. The room felt romantic and peaceful, yet was filled with natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows (with blackout curtains for privacy and restful sleep). The bed was two twins connected, but it offered ample space, plush memory foam comfort, and four pillows, making for incredibly restful nights and cozy naps.||||The bathroom was spacious, with a large, modern shower, fresh towels replenished daily, and excellent toiletries—from toothbrushes and toothpaste to shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shower caps, and more. The air conditioning was a true blessing during the summer heat, and the room was always peaceful and quiet—perfect for deep sleep and sunny wakeups.||||Every morning, we looked forward to the amazing breakfast in the courtyard: freshly scrambled or hard-boiled eggs, bacon, meats and cheeses, seasonal fruits, a beautiful variety of pastries and cornetti, cakes, cereals, and fresh juices. The cappuccinos and espressos were made to order and delivered with a smile.||||A sweet surprise greeted us in the room on arrival—a bottle of local olive oil and a kind welcome note, a thoughtful gesture that made us feel right at home. We also loved the courtyard and solarium, and while we didn’t have time to try the spa, it looked just as serene and luxurious as the rest of the hotel. Their onsite restaurant and bar opens in the evenings, adding to the charm.||||The hotel also arranged seamless private transfers to and from the airport, as well as to the car rental agency on our last day—every detail was handled with care and ease.||||We felt completely taken care of and cherished our time here. Quintocanto blends romantic seclusion, beautiful design, warm hospitality, and an absolutely ideal location. I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Palermo—whether you’re planning a romantic getaway or a peaceful solo retreat. And if you can, request Room 319. It made our trip truly...
Read moreJune 2023-renewing my ongoing displeasure and dissatisfaction with this property and especially with the deceptive practices of management. Contacted several months ago by new management anxious to make us whole and refund $1300US, they have gone silent and are again ghosting us. A difficult situation, now unresolved for 3 years plus.
I have corresponded repeatedly and at length with various hotel management. They seem to think that keeping our $1500 without providing any service is a great bonus and bonanza for them. They appear oblivious to the injury caused by bad reviews online, the amount of business that will be scared away, not to mention being excluded from some premier travel sites because of this unfair business practice. I will keep asking, inviting them to do the right thing.
Still awaiting a COVID-related refund in excess of $1500.00 US from the hotel. Having closed due to the pandemic, they have refused to refund my family’s money and insist we accept a credit for some future stay. It has been over a year. Having received full and immediate refunds from every other business, hotel, airline, and train throughout Italy and Europe, the Quintocanto is an outlier, unreliable and unprofessional. We await a full refund now that they are open and hosting guests and apparently have revenue. It is sadly unfortunate that this particular hotel in such a beautiful city treats people so poorly, unjustly retains funds for services they never provided, and has no ethical standards. I cannot recommend them. Much better places to stay nearby that are honorable...
Read moreHotels location is good. But it's not a 4 Star hotel barley a 3 Star experience. The facility itself is old and tired, badly in need of a facelift, with obvious maintenance issues. One gets the feeling they are trying to save money at every turn. That being said, the experience could have been salvageable had the service quality been better. The breakfast was mediocre at best. However the server's were excellent. Some of the issues that have caused us to post this review are lack of caring by reception and service quality. For example when we asked for a restaurant recommendation the manger walked out front and motioned there's restaurants all over. We already knew that, we wanted a recommendation! There was also a problem getting ice for the room either they didn't have it or were out completely. There is no room delivery so you have to go to the restaurant and order. On the last day we were excited when they gave us a large champagne bucket with ice, only to find it was mostly melted and water. A full bucket barley made two drinks worth of ice. Only the following day did I realize they gave us a bucket from someone else champagne ice. Other issues were we could not get change to leave tips for servers, despite several attempts. We asked for housekeeping services at 1 PM and they had sent the staff home for the day. In short: no restaurant recommendation, no ice, no change and no housekeeping services. The name of the hotel should be changed from Quintocanto to...
