Disappointing Experience - Slow Service and Subpar Food - NOT recommended
My recent visit to this restaurant left much to be desired. Upon arrival on time, we were initially ignore by the staff, with waiters just passing in front of us. Then we had to wait twenty minutes to be seated, despite having a reservation. This was a frustrating start to our evening.
Once seated, we ordered the Tagliatelle with Prawns and Black Truffle. Unfortunately, the food fell far short of our expectations. The Tagliatelle were store bought and overcooked, the prawn were teared apart in tiny pieces (see picture), which made us initially think they just forgot the prawns in the dish. The sauce was unusually sweet for a pasta / seafood dish.
The most disappointing aspect was the black truffle, which was supposed to be in the dish. Regrettably, there was no trace or taste of truffle and it left us wondering if it had been omitted entirely. For a dish costing 25€ in Italy it‘s really a shame. Upon giving our feedback to the service staff, they just didn’t react to it at all.
While the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, the service and food quality were major letdowns. I had high hopes for this dining experience, but I left feeling unsatisfied and...
Read moreI asked a nice couple from Paler o to recommend a simple, mom and pap, non touristic taverna for dinner. After arguing among themselves for 10 minutes in Italian that I don't understand, they agreed on this place. It took me sometime to find it because my Google maps was getting confused. When we arrived my daughter was really tired. To my surprise this place was exactly the opposite of what I had asked. Philosophically this was a lesson of how people interpret and view things. Fancy, somehow sophisticated, prizewise aimed for wealthy tourists. Since my daughter was tired, we had no option. It took them for ever to prepare the table and bring the food. From the gourmet menu , my daughter could not obviously find the plain spaghetti with butter. I ordered the fish which was a bit dry and not tender.y wide pasta had tomato sauce e but on the menu the name was something fancy in Italian. The local white wine was just ok. Most of the clients spoke English. So my only night in Palermo that I wanted to blend with locals was a...
Read moreWe arrived without a reservation at 8.45pm and asked if they had a table, they said yes it would be about a 10 minutes wait, great we asked for a drink while waited and sat on the sofa along with two ladies. About 30 minutes later we asked the ladies next to us if they had a reservation they said yes. The lady then went to ask how much longer it would be. About 5 minutes later they were taken to their table, there were two empty tables for about 15 minutes. My husband then asked and they said 5 minutes, another couple then came in and sat on the sofa, after 50 minutes waiting the waitress came to get us, as we got to the table the other waitress told her that table was for the other couple sat on the sofa. If we had been told wed have to wait an hour we would have gone elsewhere, just have a little thought for your guess and treat them with respect. I handed the waitress my glass and me and my husband walked out. Im starting to feel unwelcome in this city i guess they don’t...
