Albergo Miramare will hands down be our go to hotel in Positano. My husband and I both agree the location of Albergo Miramare is ideal when traveling to Positano. It is located in the middle so you walk down a few flights of stairs from the main road or down several flights to the beach depending on where you are going. Whether you are going up to the main road for dinner or down to the dock for a boat tour, you minimize climbing stairs with this prime location. Don't get me wrong there are stairs on all paths but we found our hotel to be in the best possible spot as opposed to being located at the top of the mountain creating a long climb home each day or at the bottom where you would have a long climb up each day. ||Beyond the ideal location, here are the other reasons my family will look no further for hotel accommodations when traveling to Positano.||Staff: The staff were so easy to communicate with from the very beginning. After booking our apartment for the week, my husband's work conference dates changed in Sicily. I emailed the staff at Albergo Miramare and within hours they adjusted our dates with no issues. Danielle and Nicola were incredible with arranging transfers to and from the airport for my family. They assisted us in chartering a private boat to Capri which was our favorite day of the trip. Every staff member we encountered from reception, porter service , housekeeping and restaurant staff were all friendly and professional. ||Room: We booked the apartment for our family of four. Our apartment was located across the steps from the reception office and only a few steps up from the hotel restaurant. The apartment had two bedrooms, two full baths, two closets, a small lounge area in the master bedroom and a full living area between the two bedrooms and hallway connecting the two bedrooms. The apartment was spacious and having the full living area was a nice feature when taking breaks from the heat during the day. The air conditioning was of US standard as it really cooled the entire apartment unlike many other air conditioning units we have experienced in our travels abroad. The beds and pillows were soft and comfortable which made for a good nights sleep. Housekeeping changed sheets and replaced towels daily. The private balcony was the icing on the cake for us. It was spacious with two tables for enjoying dinner and four lounge chairs for resting and enjoying the views. The view was so picturesque from our private balcony. | |Restaurant: The breakfast included in our room rate was served daily from 7:30-10:30 in La Scalinatella. The restaurant was just beautiful with a paper tree draping from the ceiling and walls. The views from the restaurant are the best you will find in Positano. Each morning there was a diverse buffet served with fresh fruit, cooked vegetables, cheese selections, sliced meat selections, eggs (boiled, scrambled and fried), bacon, sausage and hash browns. Each day they offered different sweet options such as a lemon cake, ricotta torte, pancakes and chocolate cake. Once seated you were also served a selection of crossaints. Between the beautiful setting and the nice selection of breakfast options it was a delightful way to begin your day.||Be sure to request the hotel's porter service upon your arrival and your departure as they will meet you at the road to carry down your luggage. Should you have an early morning departure they will carry up your luggage the night before and lock it in their storage unit to prevent you from carrying it up yourself upon your departure. Be sure to arrange this valuable service.||If you are looking to book your stay in Positano then look no further as Albergo Miramare...
Read moreWe stayed 5 nights in this beautiful hotel in Positano, Italy! We were celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary and the concierge, Carmela and Angela, upgraded our room from Deluxe Double to the Junior Suite, which was a very nice surprise! They also left Prosecco and a welcome snack in our room upon arrival! The room was immaculate and cleaned daily! They left chocolates on our nightstands! The view from the room, balcony and bathroom was gorgeous! There was also another window in the bathroom that looked up towards the mountain. The room decor was lovely and had beautiful tile.||The hotel is located about halfway between the Main Street and the beach. Lots of stairs, but we managed fine. We enjoyed staying at this height for the awesome views! Be sure to call ahead and schedule porter service for your luggage. It was 15 Euro per bag when we were there.||The hotel restaurant, La Scalinatella, served a daily buffet breakfast with so many delectable items to choose from, including Mimosas! We ate in the restaurant one night to celebrate our anniversary with a beautiful window seat! The food was delicious! We had the fresh catch and it was prepared at our table to remove the bones and placed on our plates. They prepared a special dessert for us with writing on it regarding our anniversary! I highly recommend planning a dinner here!||Carmela and the entire staff were very friendly and accommodating! Thank you to all for helping our anniversary trip of a lifetime be...
Read moreChoosing a hotel in Positano comes down to three things: price, view, and how many steps you are willing to climb.||The Hotel Miramare gets many things right- our room had a beautiful balcony overlooking the marina and sea, and the breakfast room has a spectacular seaside view as well, plus the included breakfast is very good.||The hotel is above the harbor, slightly below the midpoint of the town. That means that there will be a lot of steps going back and forth to excursions at the port and to restaurants around town, but far less steps than if you stayed up near the top of the town.||Steps here are no joke, much more strenuous than hill towns in Umbria or Tuscany, so location in town is a major consideration.||Finally, Miramare is expensive- we paid over $1000 a night in June, but there are plenty of hotels here in Positano that charge $2000-$3000 a night or more in season.||The staff was very professional and friendly, and using the porters are essential in getting your luggage to and from the hotel, as the hotel is not close to car access.||Is it a $1000 a night a hotel? Elsewhere, definitely not, but in Positano, probably yes. We would definitely stay here again, but we also understand that when you decide to stay in Positano, a consideration like value more or less goes...
