I was roadtripping across Italy with my spouse, who suffered a fractured arm. I made reservation with Scorci di mare via booking.com, specifically filtering only those properties, which advertized as having parking available on premises, since my spouse was unable to operate normally, especially with the amount of luggage we were carrying.
I agreed to pay amount way over 200 EUR for 1 night solely based on the advertising saying that parking was available.
It was only after the booking, when I learned from chatting with paolo, that parking is 600 - 700 m walking on stairs with no additional assistance or availability to drive to the premises. As soon as I realized this (3 days ahead of cheching-in), I asked to cancell, as this was not suitable for us at the time, however the manager/owner (paolo) took position of ignoring my requests repeatedly and ripping me off despite my clear intention to not come to his property.
As a result I never showed up and still got ripped off. This is pure greed and clear misrepresentation of the accommodation. Even though I never met paolo in person, his behaviour has told me much about his personality and this review is a fair warning for all those considering dealing with him ir with the property...
Read moreHad a great stay here, late September 2024. Location can’t be beaten, we were in the terrace overlooking the harbour with the balcony. The photo attached with the arrow pointing to it! The place was clean and well equipped. Wi-Fi is very poor but I suppose that’s to be expected given where you are. You really are right in the heart of the harbour, so it does get busy in the day, but does quieten down at night. The stairs to the bedroom in the apartment are a little precarious as there is no hand rail. Just be careful! |10 min walk to the train station where you can travel to many places. Lots and lots of steps in the town and the region. Free coffee, tea and biscuits provided each day. Fresh towels provided when you needed them. Only minor gripe was the toilet flush is very temperamental and does need fixing. But, would highly recommend this place if staying in Riomaggiore. Would recommend the Bar Stazione...
Read moreI would give this place a 3.5 star if I could do a half star. The location is 10/10 the best. The man who checked us in, Michael, was very kind, however he gave us some incorrect recommendations on the National Park pass and realized later on that we could have saved some money had he not pushed us into the pass and just got the train pass. All good though. Once we checked in, we never heard from him again. Neither good nor bad. The room condition was below par in our opinion. Other than the view, the bathroom was very poor, smelly and moldy. There was construction or some other very loud noises from the floor above the entire stay, and the doors did not close properly making it hard to lock. Bathroom was located just outside our room. If you want ocean view, this may be the best value, but certainly not the best overall. Riomaggiore was hands down our...
