For a quick lunch and aperitivo - it’s quite alright. With all the pricey restaurants around, this bar is a really neat place for a cheaper meal. I had trofie al pesto (pasta with pesto), and my friend had lasagne al ragù (meat lasagna). Both were 8€, which is at least half a price of what we would’ve paid in a regular restaurant. The pesto was really delicious, maybe the pasta itself wasn’t handmade from scratch, like some restaurants do, but it was very tasty nevertheless. The only thing we didn’t like, was that when we first ordered two cocktails, we didn’t get any complimentary snacks, as accustomed with aperitivo. We saw that some other people did get chips and olives with their drinks, so it wasn’t nice that we didn’t get it. Also, the tables at the terrace aren’t too big and comfortable, and the place gets quite crowded and busy, but there’s no coperto 🙂 Overall I would recommend it.

Cheerful bar that is central to the nightlife in Riomaggiore. Staff ok when you get to know them (and vice versa), so don't worry if they seem a little brusque at first. Great place for a morning cornetto (croissant) and coffee (7 eur). Sadly, it seems to attract the occasional boarish tourist. They run a (free) silent disco in the evening, which is fun to do and to watch; the rules for this are tapped above the bar. They also offer foccacia sandwiches and pizza.

Ready to eat microwaved pasta. Yes, I was ordering the focaccia and, it was obviously the worst I had in Italy. At the same time they were microwaving ready to eat “unbranded” pasta. It is a shame. This place should be shut. Tourists are limitless so they can survive. Hopefully people look at these reviews more often and this contributes to a better quality. Location is great though. That’s the key.

The guy who rung me up for two pizza's "accidentally" rang me up exactly 4 euro short, when I handed him 5 euro, he took the one extra euro, and without even glancing in my direction, put it in the tip jar and moved on.

But that wasn't even the worst thing. When the other guy started making our pizza, he took it out of the freezer with his bare hands, and surrounded by flies proceeded to pick his nose, not once, but three times. Then he picked up a helping of cheese in those same hands and put it on the pizza and then in the oven. He then wiped something from his mouth (still with bare hands) and started on the other pizza.

It was absolutely disgusting. A huge health code violation (if that's a thing in the Riomaggiore... ).

My girlfriend and I decided to bail rather than risk food poisoning or whatever else was up that guys nose.

I tried talking to them and said we didn't want the pizza's anymore. Wasn't even trying to get my money back at this point. Figured 17 euro was a cheap lesson to avoid a larger issue down the road with this disgusting food.

They started getting angry and upset with me and flipped me off as I left. I never raised my voice. I just calmly told them we didn't want the pizza because of the health concerns and sanitary reasons.

Do not go here. They are thieves and disgusting...

TLDR: Rude staff, subpar food — do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Plenty of better options nearby.

I arrived at 8:05 AM to order two cappuccinos. The store was open, and both the door signage and online listing clearly stated an 8:00 AM opening time.

When I tried to place my order, the staff rather rudley told me to “come back later.” I asked what time they would be ready, and was told 9:00 AM — with zero apology or explanation. I politely pointed out that the posted opening time was misleading and suggested they update it.

What could’ve been a simple clarification turned into an unpleasant exchange due to the staff's rude and dismissive attitude.

I've worked in the food industry for years — I know the pressures. But basic respect toward customers is not optional. If you’re not interested in serving people, this is exactly how to...
