It's pretty unfortunate to have to write a review like this however, you should know before you book or really is best to book somewhere else. This guest house is nothing more than a run down, terribly managed hostel. You get what you pay for so to speak as I learned by booking here. They get you to book for the lowest rate possible non refundable so when you do arrive and realize how bad it is, you can't get your money back when you want to leave. I booked for 4 nights in June and asked if it was quiet. The manager or owner not sure, said it was. When I arrived there was no one there and I had to wait for 45 minutes on the front steps before anyone would arrive even though I told them my arrival time. Once I was finally given a room it was very very run down. No one came to clean the next day at all. No one is ever there they let everyone run wild. The people beside me you could hear every word and might as well be paper walls. The clientele is young and party all night. With the walls being paper thin i had no sleep. I let the owner or manager Nora known concerns and she did absolutely nothing. I stayed only two nights and got the heck out. I asked for a refund and she refused. That's how they make their money, tricking people into booking non refundable rates. I own and run my own villa in Costa Rica and couldn't believe how this place was being run or lack thereof. I moved to another hotel nearby and it was way better and the same price. Do your research. I would hogy recommend to steer clear of this run down hostel guest house that offers no service and terrible terrible rooms. There are also hookers on me corner right in front of the guest house at all hours of the day from morning until night the same ones. Out of entire month trip of Europe this was by far the worst spot I booked with the most horrible service I have ever experienced. It really is too bad they wouldn't give a refund and instead don't seem to care about any bad reviews. I should have listened to those other reviewers and not booked here. Please at all costs book anywhere else. Hotel Valle is awesome and I would recommend there. Service is great as...
Read moreBe very careful if you book here - you may end up with no room!||We had filled in the reservation form on the website and it emailed us the information we'd entered - we assumed this was the confirmation of our room. We get to Rome at 6:30pm, only half an hour after the estimated time we had to enter in the form, only to find the door locked and reception unmanned. A kind guest let us in to wait and told us sometimes she leaves keys for guests at the cafe across the road. The cafe called her for us and we were told she would be five minutes. ||An hour later she finally arrived, to say that she was 'Monti Guest House' and that our reservation email was for 'Monti House' which was not her, and was not a booking but a reservation?? She refused to say if there was another place nearby that was this 'Monti House' - googling indicates Monti House and Monti Guest House are one and the same - her website is www.montihouse.com!!||We were getting no sense out of her so went to leave, and that's when she said she had a small room available that she could rent to us for a price, as she didn't want us to have to find a hotel in the dark with a baby. Funny she hadn't mentioned it before! We declined and went to the hotel across the road who were much more helpful and...
Read moreMonti Guest House is located in a lovely area in close proximity to the colosseum and Roman Forum. However the location is the only positive attribute.||||The room we stayed in did not even closely resemble the photo on their website. The room was poorly maintained and the bathroom was covered in mould (thick mould that protruded from the grout tiles.) Also the toilet did not flush.||||Breakfast delivered to your room sounds great! Wrong! A stale croissant and orange flavoured cordial. And that's only when they remembered to deliver our breakfast (the staff forgot to bring us breakfast twice during our 5 night stay). Also, there is no table and chairs next to the window to enjoy breakfast as depicted on their website. We ate standing up whilst the food tray was on the floor.||||To top it all off - the only time we saw a staff member at reception was when we checked in (they ask for your arrival time before you arrive). Accordingly, you will not get any guidance from staff about restaurants and places to visit.||||We also did not get a wifi signal in our room. ||||Overall, this is poor value accomodation. We have stayed in much cheaper rooms in both London and Paris that were better...
