I was there during August 2017 for 3 nights. It is a complete review on this hotel. I hope it would be helpful for you.
**PROS: Location; It was close to many tourist attractions and also near to the bus station. I walked to most of the places and rarely I used bus while being there. Safety; the area is safe enough to come back hotel at midnight (NOT sure about the hotel since it is not a 24-hour hotel). Affordable; the price for the hotel is fair enough. Cleanliness; it was clean and be cleaned every day. You will receive room service all days; however, one day, they forgot to clean our room and someone entered our room at 5pm(!) while we were sleeping (I haven’t experienced such a situation in my life!). tea maker, good shower and toilet, hair dryer, good A/C in hot summer although noisy
**CONS: rude and unwelcoming staff; especially the receptionist (girl). check-out is early at 10 am while check in should be before 9 pm! you cannot arrive this hotel late since there is no one at the reservation desk from 9 pm to 9 am! It is semi-hotel! Before you come to hotel, they send you a threatening e-mail not be late Wi-Fi is the worst case! It drops most of the time but it is not all the case! You cannot be connected to the Wi-Fi using your laptop! For being connected you should go to the lobby and use directly the router of the reservation desk! On the floor only cellphone works! It caused lots of problems for me since I should have booked hotels and flights. It was unbearable for me. no safety box, not a good shampoo and soap in bathroom, very small elevator, just one of the TV channels was in English!, no secure place at the reception to keep your luggage, only one staff (the receptionist) for all the hotel! hard to find someone when the need arises.
**CONCLUSION I will go for another hotel although in the same area if I have a chance to come back to...
Read moreI picked this hotel based on the existing reviews and I was not disappointed. Everything was truly lovely.
Location - I had no idea where to stay in Rome as a first-timer, but Trevi ended up being a perfect neighborhood. Easy to walk to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, etc. There's also a taxi stand a block away at Barberini Square and there are trains, too. The best part is there are MANY highly-rated restaurants nearby. I ate well every single night for four nights and didn't go beyond a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Felt very safe walking as a solo female as well.
Staff - Letizia, Niccolo, and every single staff member I interacted with could not have been more friendly and helpful. They made great local recommendations and ensured that my stay was comfortable. I looked forward to chatting with them on my way in and out.
Perks - Breakfast was served from 730-11am every day on the rooftop and that was so nice. The wait staff was friendly and the offerings (mostly pastries and fruit) were a great way to kickstart the day. Although I didn't get to participate, I LOVED that they partner with their sister hotels to offer at least three FREE unique experiences (photo walks, yoga, gelato run, happy hour, etc.) every single day. No other place I saw offered that.
Rooms and Facility - the hotel looks modern and is painted nicely. My room was spacious and everything was very clean around the entire building. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that sometimes the elevator took a long time to come, but that's minor and it's six floors total, so walkable if need be.
Overall, I'm so glad I chose Barberini and I would stay...
Read moreThis hotel is in a perfect location for a first visit to Rome — walking distance to most of the major landmarks, which made exploring the city incredibly easy and enjoyable.
We were originally booked at another hotel from the same chain but were moved here and upgraded to a suite, which was a lovely gesture. The suite was spacious and came with a private terrace, a great feature that added a special touch to our stay. Unfortunately, there was no umbrella or shade, and with the intense heat and sun, it was difficult to actually spend time outside comfortably.
The biggest downside, though, was the suite’s proximity to the breakfast room. Every morning around 7 AM, we were woken up by the sounds of cutlery clinking, glasses, and voices from the kitchen/staff area, which really impacted our ability to rest.
Overall, the stay had many positives — especially the location and the upgrade — but some small improvements would make the experience much more relaxing...
