Currently in Rome right now and we've gone to this restaurant twice. Each time we've gone in there we've done take out this time we ordered take out and it was ice cream however the way that it was packaged and presented was not advantageous for walking with ice cream the ice cream was put in a very small cup and you would have to walk with the small cup eaten it from extremely small spoons that aren't really spoons there more like little shovels so this made it difficult for us to be able to actually take it out and eat it so we decided to sit at a table I want to say that we didn't just order ice cream we actually ordered ice cream and we ordered 3 other things When we sat down at the table someone approached us that worked there that had not served us or had not spoken to us when we walked in and told us that in order for us to Use the table we would have to order take in he is explained that if you order take in you get bigger portions and you're charged more but if you order take out your charge less and you get smaller portions none of this is displayed anywhere so there's no way for you to know this the only prices that are displayed are the cheaper prices for take out where you can get 2 scoops or you can get 3 scoops. When we were ordering our take out we actually ordered with a person so this whole process was very confusing why isn't there one clear menu that tells you what your takeout price is and 1 clear menu that tells you what your dining price is. However we wanted to sit down and eat the ice cream because it was in such a small container so we offered to actually pay for another scoop of ice cream. I want you to remember that we did not just buy ice cream we bought ice cream and other stuff so basically the amount that we paid for our ice cream plus the other stuff was more than the people who just bought ice cream that they were given tables too. This was just very confusing and I think that there needs to be clarity on the take out prices and the sit down prices and also I do think that they need to improve their carried out containers so that it is actually viable and easy for you to carry out your ice cream and eat it. The ice cream was good and the pastries were good we may go back there again I'm not sure but we were just very disappointed in the lack of clarity about the prices and I can see how people would feel like they're being dishonest because they're not being clear in UP front about the prices nor are any of the prices displayed were an average consumer can decipher the different types of prices. I also do feel like the actual packaging for the take out stuff could be improved little boxes with their name on it and logo on it for the pastries that you're taking out would be great because they just put it in a bag and it's just a brown paper bag and what happens is if you have something that has like a chocolate filling on it the majority of your filling ends up on the bag and...

I've read a lot of other reviews and I am mostly unsure of how this place operates.

TL;DR, My family felt discriminated, spent a very long time to get our food, and a server who was high. Don't come here if you're willing to walk to somewhere else.

My family dined here after visiting the Vatican Museums, when we were seated my brother and mother decided to go back to our Airbnb to relax and we would bring them food later. Our server had a tattoo on her wrist and immediately my father noticed that she was high on drugs.

After waiting for about twenty minutes, we were finally recognized by the server and allowed us to order. My family is very touristy and in other reviews I've heard that they discriminate against English speaking tourists. We certainly noticed that our table didn't get any salt or pepper or bread rolls while other tables had them. After another 30 minutes of waiting, we finally got food. My dad said the gnocchi he got was good, but my margherita pizza was undercooked.

After we finished eating we ordered food for our missing family members and noticed something interesting about how they serve food. They have an elevator, that leads to a kitchen, and that's how they serve the food. My mom and brother also got a pizza. It first came out of the elevator with no box. After 10 more minutes it came back out of the elevator with a box. They sent our food back to be boxed... That was extremely annoying to me because we were just waiting for their food.

I also noticed that the servers send orders through their phones, so I was curious why they even had the menu on a QR code. I think if they had a serve yourself style online and servers just bussed tables and sent out food it would work much better because service is the number one problem.

I am unsure if I would recommend this place because of my experience as an English tourist. I did not experience rude staff but I noticed we were waiting much longer than other...

NOTE: I've read even more reviews. Multiple stating that they purposely do not serve tourists and specifically ENGLISH speaking tourists. This is NOT true. We were served fine. One lass even complimented our Scottish accents.

We visited this a few times as it was very convenient for our travels. Each time we saw the same things. VERY busy staff. Tourists moaning that they have to wait to be seated and people expecting too much from the already over whelmed staff.

My personal experience (and I'm sure my entire family would agree) is that we didn't have a bad experience at all. Though, watching the customers that came and left when I was in. It seemed we were one of a handful that didn't make endless demands from the staff.

Anyway, the food we had here was good. We tried everything from pasta, burgers and pizza to their deserts. Each one we had was lovely and was obviously good enough that we kept coming back.

The staff we did talk to were very friendly and went out their way to do their job. This place is VERY busy and I can imagine it's a hard place to work. I respect these people and it's clear others did not.

I've seen multiple reviews complaining about the price and I'm not sure where they're coming from. What we got for our money was perfectly acceptable and certainly above the standard of places we went that charged more.

I personally recommend visiting White Bar & Restaurant. But whether you want to believe the negative reviews is up to you. Three or four times we were in and didn't have a...

TOURIST TRAP. AVOID. If I could give it zero stars I would. The prices advertised are ONLY for take away. We ordered gelato and tried to only get two scoops each, but the man forced us to get three. After that he asked if we wanted to take away or eat in without providing any further information. After deciding to eat in, we tried to pay for our gelato, but they wouldn’t let us pay yet or take our money. When they made us sit down at a table they carried our gelato the two feet to our table, and that was the full extent of the “service”. The gelato itself was not anything special, we wouldn’t get it again. The ambience felt like a convenience store and didn’t even have a view of the plaza. After requesting the bill, we discovered it was way higher than we were expecting. The board in the restaurant advertised three scoops of gelato for 3€ but the final price ended up being 6€. When we asked about it, the staff said it was because we decided to eat in. After that they avoided our table because they could see we were upset about being tricked, and we had to go out of our way to get them to collect the money. The cannoli was meh and ended up being 9€. You can get so much better elsewhere, tourists beware.

About the food: Food was great don’t get me wrong, I loved it the first time i came with my family, the male tanned server was very kind. Though the second time I came the 2 waitresses sneezed into our food And the pastry section. The two tables saw this and quickly left before ordering. Attitude: Second time I came, the two waitresses, one was dark tanned lady with leaf tattoos on her left wrist. Two rings on her left hand and white see-through shirt, with black sketchers, and black hair that cat walks was sneezing at my table and food. The other waitress was dark tanned with silver earrings and silver nose ring with half orange hair up and half black hair down was rolling her eyes taking our order. And both told us to put our store bought drinks on the ground but didn’t tell it to any of the other tables that had the same store bought drinks. They kept staring at us for 2-5 minutes and went back to work.
