The most important thing to know when booking here is that they have more than one location, and that is NOT clear! We arrived at the central Rome location after a long flight from the US, only to be informed that our booking was for their other location, a twenty minute cab ride outside Rome! Ugh. I booked this hotel from the airport in the US just minutes before flying out, and on their initial email confirmation, there was no mention of an address and no indication that we'd booked a different location. So, just a heads up!|They fortunately had a room for us in the location we'd arrived at, but at a significant price increase. Honestly, had they just allowed us to stay in the open room at the price we paid for the other room or had it been more clearly my fault, I would have given them more stars. But, given the fact that it was nearly impossible to know I was booking a different location, I imagine this happens all the time. |The hotel is located on the 4th floor of what feels like an office building--it is not your typical hotel setting. The elevator is TINY and old, just fyi! The lobby of the hotel feels like a cave with no windows. The room itself was fine; fairly clean except for the prior tenant's old band-aid left on the bathroom floor and a bit of mold at the base of the shower. The beds are VERY hard and the odor of their cleaning supplies used in the bathroom lingered all night. |The best part about this hotel is the location, for sure. It is very close to the Monti area and a ten-minute walk to Trevi. The room we had (#1) was very quiet. It wasn't the worst experience, but for the $, I would not stay...
Read moreThis guest house is nicely located in a commercial building close to the Fontana de Trevi, Main Terminal for the trains and the Coliseu. But the first impression will scare you once you enter the main door and see their panoramic elevator from 19th century. If you are claustrophobic or afraid of heights you will have to go up 4-5 flights of stairs. But once you arrive at the 4th floor of the lobby of the guesthouse you start to feel a relieve. The guesthouse lobby and the rooms are nice, with all the main things you will need for a comfortable stay. A Nespresso machine, blackout, hair dryer, nice clean sheets, air conditioning, a safe and a breakfast made with love. John and Guedo are fabulous, sweet and kind and were great. The few negatives were the size of the shower. Nearly impossible to shower in there if you are more than 60kg/150lbs. And if you plan to shave your legs, forget about it! The sad part is that there is room for expansion of such. But that is Europe for you. Everything here is compact! Ah the bed too, I asked for a queen, but the combined 2 singles and I ended up sleeping in the crack of the beds 9 nights. Overall, the stay was pleasant because I rather save in the stay and spend at the attractions, wines and nicer restaurants. I would...
Read moreThe location was exceptional, especially for the prize. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, doing their best to assisst us with any request. For example they helped us in fixing my Dads bag, that got broken during our flight to rome and they were more then happy in going along with special breakfast requests, like putting it into our room to eat later, because we would already be outside during the normal breakfast times. While the breakfast itself wasnt comparable with a big buffet at a hotel, it was certainly delicious and enough to start the day right.
Some small downsides: While we personally didnt mind, this is not a big hotel chain. There is no 24h reception, there are no special amenities like a pool or a sauna. It is more similiar to a small bed&breakfast, so know what to expect. Two smaller points of critic:
