Stayed here for my honeymoon. The location of the hotel is great, 10min walk from the Colosseum, 5min to the Trevi fountain. For those wanting to go to the Vatican city I would recommend the metro from here as it's an hour's walk. We got the bus to the Termini station from the airport and walked from there to the hotel, so that's achievable for anyone not wanting to fork out €50 for a taxi from the airport The staff were great on greeting and give you a welcome drink which is either a prosecco, coffee or soft drink from the bar. The concierge then proceeded to explain about Manet, which is a Samsung smartphone device allocated to your room which has unlimited data, free national and international calls and texts, the device can be set up in the common European languages and comes with a charger stand in the room. I found this an excellent idea as I just used Manet for maps and directions, ideas of where to go and just kept my smartphone device to taking pictures. The only charge associated with the Manet device is a charge of €5 for activating the mobile hotspot, this charge applies for each day you activate it. The room was nice and big, with a stocked mini bar on arrival, just has some water, coke, milk for coffee and some biscuits. The arrival fill is free of charge and then costs for a refill, which we never did so not sure how much that cost. Bathroom had a modern design and the shower was one of those overhead waterfall effect ones. A safe can be found within the wardrobe but again, this is something we didn't use but there is a charge for it. The hotel comes with a breakfast served 7.00am-10.30am which is set up as a buffet and is a continental style. There is a kids corner if you're bringing little ones, which has cereals, Nutella pouches and waffles. The hotel provides yogurt, fruit, breads, bacon, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, wurstle (sausage), cheeses, ham, vegetables, rice cakes and dark rye bed. When seated, you'll be given a choice of coffees from their fancy coffee machine, but their is also a standard machine available for top ups. The breakfast also has some puddings for those with a sweet tooth. A really good selection. The hotel has a roof top terrace, but this doesn't really have a good view of anything special, but is a nice quiet place to just go and chill and have some wine or beer (or both) before venturing out. Just for people to remember, there is the typical city tax to pay on checkout, which was €6 per person per night. My only complaint was that on 2 of our mornings we had no hot water for the shower. We raised this to the management and was told that one morning was due to them needing to restart the boiler and it should come back, which it did. When we raised it on the second morning, the staff were really apologetic as they said it should of fixed it, so as compensation the hotel booked and paid for a taxi to take us to the airport, which saved us the bother of walking to get the bus back, this helped to keep our positive attitude towards the hotel. All in all a great place to stay for those wanting to visit the...
Read moreThis sounds like a movie, but it is real life - last December I stayed in Rome Times hotel on a business trip. While walking home from dinner, my room literally blew up and burned due to faulty wiring at the hotel. I did not have anything plugged in and only had 1 adaptor, which was with me - this is 100% confirmed and accepted by the hotel and the fire department - it's to say, CONFIRMED legally that it was the hotel's fault. My entire room burned, and although the hotel did initially try to clean my clothes I still lost practically every item as the smoke damage was absolutely overwhelming and impregnated everything and changed the color of all the fabrics. I sent everything to professional cleaning when I got home and there was no way to get the smoke damage and smell out. I lost thousands of dollars of clothes/shoes, casual and business, medications, luggage, and I lost my brand new computer to the fire. Practically the only item that was salvaged was my passport, which was hidden deep in my bags. Outside the the hotel, the on-turn manager was blatantly talking crap about me with the police and fire department (I could understand their conversation) until they confirmed that it was the hotel's fault. EVEN THEN they tried to pressure me to sign a police report saying that there was no damage to my items. While I was waiting with colleagues in the bar, the manager then attended the fire department workers while at NO point did ANYONE from the hotel ask me if I was okay, and hours, HOURS later they reluctantly gave me a different room. During the same stay, I had a colleague have items stolen from her room. We filed reports for both incidents including a detailed list of my losses to the hotel. The business contracting the hotel did the same. Not only did the hotel claim that I was lying about my losses, but they ghosted us and have not responded for months. I lost thousands of dollars on the trip and the hotel does not care. This hotel should be shut down permanently, save your money and go LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE. You're better off not going to Italy than staying in this hell hole. Please look at my photos for evidence, when the worst happens, the hotel, the staff, and the owners will leave you hanging, YOU are the ones who will pay - be warned, NO ONE SHOULD EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL! If anyone needs more evidence of what I've written, I am happy to share photos, evidence of communication, etc. Do NOT stay at this hotel ever, your life might depend on it, you...
Read moreThis hotel was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had. Upon check-in we immediately noticed the air conditioner was ineffective which was not good considering the temperatures outside were especially hot. Upon entering the room we noticed there was considerable wear and tear, paint chipped, scuffs on the walls, and stains on the curtains and furniture. It wasn’t until entering the bathroom that the worst problems came to light. We had requested a room with a bathroom door as we were traveling without children and found no door on the bathroom. Instead a screen you could see through was provided. Needless to say this made for an awkward bathroom situation. The shower floor was dirty and the tub did not drain while showering. Of the 4 towels we were given only 1 towel was without stains, leaving that to be the only towel we had for a family of four. There was a mysterious brown substance on the faucet and sink area of one side of the vanity so we were left to use just the other sink. When going to put our daughter to bed, we noticed stains on the sheets of her cot and stains on the daybed of our son. We were all forced to sleep in 1 king size bed for the night. We’ve never checked out of a hotel early before, but we’re fortunate to find a room available at a different hotel and left early due to the disgusting conditions. We notified the staff at the front desk and were told they could try to find another room. After the state of the first room, this was not an adequate solution for us. We were told to email management for a refund for the two days we were forced to leave. Management responded stating they couldn’t verify our complaints as the room had been removed of linens before they were able to view it and stated they would only be returning payment for 1 of the nights we were forced to leave. This is absolutely unacceptable considering the circumstances under which we left. I’ve emailed again to try to resolve the issue and haven’t been able to receive a response. Beware of this hotel for its lack of cleanliness and poor management and customer service!...
