Hotel HS311 — Hotel in Rome

Our room had a horrible stink to it. The carpet and cloth walls have a mould/body odor/wet dog/stale smoke/mothballs smell. We had a hard time putting our finger on the exact description. AC was not working properly. Electrical not working (have to unscrew lightbulbs to turn lights off - no it wasn't that it couldn't find the switch). Bring your own soap as the hotel soap is strongly perfumed so cannot be used. Having hot water depends on who else at the hotel is showering. Note that as we passed other rooms they were different (seemed nicer) so maybe luck of the draw. Staff was ok and no issues. Eravamo già stati in questo hotel qualche anno fa, lo avevamo scelto per il punto strategico dove si trova e per il rapporto con il prezzo. Avevamo trovato un hotel 3 stelle, senza troppe pretese, pulito. Ahimè questa volta non è stato così; la camera a noi assegnata era molto molto datata, tappezzeria rotta, sporca e con chiari segni di manutenzione non fatta. Gli asciugamani puliti ma alcuni rotti o bucati, lenzuola pulite ma con forte odore di disinfettante, letti scomodissimi così come i cuscini. La televisione prende solo 3 canali per un "problema di antenna" ci hanno detto. Il WI-FI in camera prendeva solo se stavi in piedi vicino alla porta. Odore di fogna all'ingresso in reception non momentanea perchè abbiamo alloggiato 3 giorni e si è sempre avvertita. Colazione scarsa, sono intollerante al lattosio e la prima mattina ho chiesto se ci fosse la possibilità di avere qualcosa che non fossero fette biscottate confezionate e marmellata confezionata, ma purtroppo oltre il caffè non ho potuto avere, anche se la Sig.ra che era presente nel servire la colazione è stata gentile e si è resa disponibile di pensare a delle alternative presenti, ma capisco che essendo solo una dipendente non poteva fare molto. We chose this hotel for its convenience to the Colosseum but I would recommend searching elsewhere for accommodations. The beds were uncomfortable, the staff was not real warm or friendly… in fact, quite rude. Included breakfast was OK, but the woman running the dining room was pretty cold and militant. it was our least favorite accommodations on this...
