I don't know who submitted all the positive reviews for this hotel. But here is mine experience with it. ||The hotel is impossible to find due to the lack of any visible signs outside the building . GPS took me to the right building with no problem. Then I spent about an hour circling around trying to ifentify a hotel/ hotel entry. I've got eventually assistance from a lady in the near shop, she walked me to the right port. I noticed that there is no sign saying it's a hotel there. She pointed to a small sign in black color with black letters. The sign was "lost" among many others and was barely readable even stsnding next to it. When I've got inside the yard I still couldn't orient myself on what direction to move as the guidance was in Italian only. I had to wait another 10 minutes for someone to ask. When I finally arrived to the reception I noticed to the owner that it was difficult to find the place. He didn't express even a smallest interest to the matter.||Next - for some reason he took a copy of my passport (!) What for?! Showing it would be certainly enough. He also made me to sign some paper, explaining that this is to confirm that hotel won't use information in my pass for any other purposes than check-in... I haven't got back anything on the matter signed by them, not a copy of this document. Basically, I have signed document confirming that some third party won't use my ID for anything. Unfortunately, I was too tired to deal with it at the desk, I asked twice what is it he wants me to sign, and he clearly was giving me explanation without any sense in it. The passport is a property of a country it was issued in. The hotels are not eligible to require it. Taking copy of it is illegal. He also charged me additional fees which I was not aware of (tourist tax). Don't know what's that, haven't investigate it yet. I got receip which did not spesify what the payment was about.||The bed in the room was very small, I couldn't have proper sleep on it as there were no place. I didn't know such beds still exist. I am 170 cm and 57 kg, but I still find offering such beds is a torture. It was blowing from a window, so that I moved the bad closer to the door. That was a solution at least. Maybe not an issue on summer, when it's hot outside. ||A couple of weeks prior to arrival I sent an email to the reception with a question. I got an empty email back as an answer.||Definitely...
Read moreFirst, you might be standing literally at the door on the street and not know you have arrived. There is a massive door - it seems like the entire block is filled with them - leading into a courtyard, and your hotel sits on the third story. You could walk up the charming staircase but take the very European, open air elevator.||||Personally I would insist on a room with a balcony. They are just large enough for you to stand, but the handsome large french doors leading out are romantic. The bathrooms are ... well, small by US standards but sufficient. Storage was tight for us, but we had plenty of luggage (we were about to take a transatlantic cruise).||||Dining is certainly nice enough, with an airy room that looks out on the avenue. Coffee was excellent and service for me was quite friendly. ||||The gelato across the street was outstanding, but here are two recommendations that practically made our stay. First, go down the street and you'll find a bakery/restaurant. They have a sfogliatelle that will haunt your dreams. And turn left out of the hotel, past the gelato ... on the same side of the street an excellent trattoria. ||||What a stay. And so cheap, really. Just a short walk to that church, and from there you can get on the tourist bus to take you all over Rome. God. We have to...
Read moreThe hotel was nice and clean.the staff very polite and welcoming. It was in a old style and thou it had a wierd colour I found it charming. Our room had a balcony that was very cosy and quite big. The bathroom was big enough and shower was nice and clean. We had everything we wanted. There was even an outlet that worked great. The bedroom was reasonably big and the bed nice. Only thing I wish for was outlets next to the bedside table so I cud charge during the night and not need to get up and get the phone.
Breakfast was Oki. It has cereal and bread to eat. You can if you wish even have some cake. They will make whatever coffee you ask for and everyone is very friendly. However I find 6€ to be too much for this when I can go outside the door and have for the same price a 5🌟 breakfast with local, newly made dishes and coffee that tastes like no where else.
The location is great if you are willing to walk from the centre for 20 min. I was and enjoyed the walk in the evening. There is still people out and it feels very safe. You also get to see more of the locals and it feels good after spending alot dealing with all the tourist places etc. I would go for it again. However if you have smal children it might be something to consider bcz it is alot of uphill to go....at least...
