Doc San Gimignano Is a delightful blend of flavours, hospitality, service, and above all, passion. Silvia and Sasha have created a simple but tastefully furnished Place, suitable for everyone, inclusive, and relaxed.
A pleasant break away from the tourist clichés: the menu is captivating and unique, catered to all tastes and needs. The bread and schiacciata are homemade, with carefully selected and absolutely fresh ingredients. Don't miss the fried lasagna and fried gnocco. I was lucky enough to choose a schiacciata with goat cheese, zucchini, and lemon, which I will dream about for a long time. The drinks are also professionally selected, with a wide selection of local wines and craft beers. For the more discerning, Silvia also prepares special cocktails with unique ingredients. I can confidently say that it's one of the best places I've ever visited because, in addition to the good food and lovely atmosphere, I met welcoming and smiling people who are passionate about their work. Thank you! We will...
Read moreThis was easily the best panino I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’ve eaten a lot of panini in my life but this was absolutely next level. All the bread was made in house, by hand with sourdough. All the ingredients are locally sourced and all sauces/salsas are made in house. The quality is so high and the cost is honest for what you receive. It was hard to watch bus loads of tourists hop off and walk right past, missing the best panino of their lives. The coffee was also great! Silvia was an incredible person who shared many tips for us to adventure around the local area. The food there is truly of the highest quality and you can feel the atmosphere of Silvia’s personality is so genuine and caring for her land, her culture and for the customers. Highly recommend. And this is coming from someone who very rarely...
Read moreAn absolute gem of a restaurant and completely deserving of its high rating. The food itself is fantastic, fresh local ingredients being used to make the most delicious sandwiches and at an extremely fair price. Yes, it’s “just a sandwich”, but the flavour combinations are innovative and exciting. However, what makes this a clear 5* place is the owners, Sascha and Silvia. They were so friendly and welcoming, even to 2 tourists with shockingly little Italian such as us. They clearly have a passion for the food they’re making and the philosophy of the restaurant but also for their town and region. It’s what all independents should strive to be, and I hope this place goes from strength...
