B&B Il Fienile — Hotel in San Gimignano

We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely house! The location is perfect- on a small , calm street, 3 minutes walk from Porta San Giovanni. There is a well stocked supermarket on the same distance. There is free parking in the yard. The garden is like a temple of colors and freshness - full with daisies, flowers and lemon trees! The room was spotless clean! Rustic and authentic elements and modern details at the same time. Bed was super comfy! They offer breakfast, which we didn't try, but I saw it ! Don't make my mistake- have a breakfast! It is so rich, fresh and looks great! You can have also coffee, cappuccino or wine during the day. In the morning, when you step in the fresh garden, first you hear the birds, then you feel the gentle wind and in the end you see the mighty towers of San Gimignano in all of its glory!!! Breathtaking and unforgettable view! And the most important - the Host! Francesca welcomed us as we were old friends! She made us feel like home, gave us excellent advices and tips and was always there to help us! Thank you sunny girl!! You made our vacation unforgettable!

Staying here was the absolute highlight of our holiday! Francesca and Mauro were so friendly and welcoming, and gave us loads of great suggestions about the local area (and beyond for our onward journey!). We felt truly looked after, and although Francesca speaks excellent English she was very encouraging and patient with my bad Italian :)

The room was very large with lots of storage, a comfortable bed and a large bathroom with a good shower. However you won't want to spend much time in the room because the real high point of Il Fienile is the garden with the stunning panoramic view of the San Gimignano skyline and the valley below. When the weather is good breakfast is served there so you can start the day with the great view, and we also spent several evenings out there watching the sun go down and enjoying the selection of excellent local wines they have.

The B&B is about a 10-minute walk from San Gimignano so you have the double benefit of being close to the town but also being able to benefit from some peace and quiet and the lovely view.

A cozy bed&breakfast offering a fantastic view of Sam Gimignano. The BB itself is located in the outskirts, but the historic city center is within walking distance (5-10 minutes on foot). All the rooms have their own terraces in the garden, which is a little bit unkept, but still very nice and romantic. The property has a private parking place as well.||Il Fienile is an ideal base for exploring San Gimignano and other cities in central Tuscany (e.g. Siena, Volterra): you can easily reach them by car and arriving back at the end of an exhausting day trip you can find a peaceful, tranquilizing atmosphere, where you can relax. ||The host is a nice person, who tries his best to help the guests. He gave us a lot of useful information/advice (e.g. how to reach the other cities, etc.). Although we did not have a language in common (he does not speak English), but using nonverbal means as well we could understand each other. :)||The BB has all the facilities required for a pleasant stay, but certainly it is not a luxury place.
