B&B IL Siculo — Hotel in Sorrento

We have just checked out from our 3 night stay at Il Siculo. Please book to stay here if you are visiting Sorrento! ||It’s around a 2 min walk from the train station and a 4 min walk to the central square, the rooms are a good size for a couple and have everything you need (we even enquired about an iron before our trip and was left one in our room) ||Everything is very clean and well presented and the bedding and towels are replaced daily. ||We were even greeted with some traditional Italian cakes and limoncello!||Angela who owns the b&b is amazing and cannot do enough for you (all the above was arranged by her) ||She is so kind, welcoming and helpful and if you get the chance to go on her boat please do! We did this on our last night and had 2 hours cruising around the coast with drinks and dinner included, it was magical! || Breakfast is provided in the cafe next door via voucher (left in your room everyday) and was either an Italian or English option, we only had Italian option so cannot comment on the English, but all the pastries and coffee were delicious. ||Would definitely stay here again and will be recommending to our guests for our...

Il Siculo is located on the first floor of an apartment building located about 500 metres (uphill) from the town centre and about 1 km from the port. Although the apartment building itself had a shabby appearance both our bedroom and bathroom were exceptionally clean. There was parking available at 18 euros per night in the building and also a nice supermarket nearby.||Difficult to find as the sign for the apartment is written on a very small plaque on only one of the two entrances to the building. Also better communication is needed on what to do on arrival. Although we had informed the time of our arrival we arrived to find the entrance locked and no-one at home. The phone link on the booking.com app was incorrect and our message through the app was unanswered. Breakfast was not in the building but in a neighboring cafe where we had the same and very limited choice each day: English breakfast (Italian style) or a bun and coffee or juice. We would have preferred not to have paid for breakfast and chosen our own options...

Ho trascorso due notti a Sorrento in questo B&B e l’esperienza è stata davvero impeccabile sotto ogni punto di vista. La posizione è perfetta: a soli 5 minuti a piedi dalla stazione centrale, comodissima per spostarsi, e in circa 15 minuti si raggiungono facilmente sia il centro storico che il porto. La struttura è moderna e accogliente: l’accesso è organizzato con pin per entrare nel palazzo e con carta elettronica per struttura e camera, una soluzione comoda e sicura. La camera mi ha lasciato a bocca aperta: spaziosa e luminosa, con tapparelle elettriche, balcone attrezzato con tavolino, sedie, stendino e mollette (un dettaglio prezioso per chi deve far asciugare i costumi da mare), oltre a fiori che rendono l’ambiente ancora più curato. Il letto era molto confortevole, l’aria condizionata sempre perfettamente funzionante, e il bagno moderno con doccia a vetro, pulitissimo e fornito di tutto l’occorrente per l’igiene.

Un tocco molto gradito è stata la presenza della macchina del caffè in camera, con capsule, tè e bottigliette d’acqua rinnovate ogni giorno. La colazione non è inclusa, ma queste attenzioni compensano ampiamente. La pulizia è impeccabile: quotidiana, con cambio asciugamani giornaliero o su richiesta, grazie alla disponibilità della signora delle pulizie.

Un ringraziamento speciale va alla titolare Angela e a suo marito, persone davvero squisite. Ci hanno accolto con calore, fornendoci tutti i consigli utili su ristoranti, spostamenti e luoghi da visitare. E l’ultimo giorno ci hanno persino lasciato un pensiero delizioso: un limoncello, che abbiamo molto apprezzato.

Il prezzo è assolutamente in linea con Sorrento, città notoriamente cara, ma qui il rapporto qualità-prezzo è ottimo. Non ho trovato alcun punto negativo, solo aspetti positivi.

Se dovessi tornare a Sorrento, so già che sceglierei nuovamente questo B&B...
