Disappointing food and even worse attitude. Let me start from the beginning. We were walking by and one of the staff at the front convinced us to come in. I mentioned I was looking for seafood, and he showed me this amazing seafood platter on Instagram – it looked great, and he said there was only one table left, which made it sound exclusive. So we decided to give it a try. As soon as we sat down, they randomly brought out a new two-person table from nowhere and continued selling that “only one table left” story to other people walking by. That should’ve been our first red flag. We ordered grilled sardines to start – it was okay, but honestly, tasted more like canned sardines warmed up than something freshly grilled. Then came the main dish – I ordered the grilled seafood. It arrived with absolutely no seasoning. No salt, no pepper, no herbs. When I asked about it, even the manager told me that everyone has different taste, so it's up to the customer to add oil, vinegar, salt, etc. I gave it a shot, but no matter what I added, the taste was off – the seafood was clearly frozen, rubbery, and just not fresh at all. I could barely eat it. I tried to talk to the manager and the guy who initially convinced us to come in, and that’s where things got really uncomfortable. Instead of handling it professionally, the guy completely lost it. He started raising his voice, putting on a dramatic scene in front of all the other customers, saying things like “don’t come here if you don’t like the food.” It was embarrassing and totally uncalled for. I stayed calm the whole time and didn’t raise my voice, but he acted like he "won" just because he shouted louder. I asked politely if they could take the dish off the bill since I couldn’t eat it, and that just made him yell more. The whole situation felt so unfair. I’ve never experienced this kind of treatment from restaurant staff before. I know they like to defend themselves in the replies to reviews (just look at the other comments), but honestly, nothing can excuse that kind of behavior. It’s one thing to serve food that’s not to someone’s taste – it happens. But to publicly shame and argue with a customer for not liking it? That’s next-level disrespectful. And it’s not just me. Read the other reviews too – there are many comments from people who were treated the same way. They know we’re tourists, and they know there will always be someone else to fall for the sales pitch. That’s exactly why reviews like this matter – so others can hear real experiences, not just the picture-perfect ones they try to sell.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience at Blue Water Ristorante. Our recent dinner at Blue Water Ristorante was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped into the charming ambiance, we knew we were in for a special evening. The attentive and knowledgeable staff made us feel welcome and well-cared for throughout the entire experience. The food was simply divine! Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing the finest local ingredients and impeccable culinary skills. The flavors were bold and harmonious, creating a symphony of taste that delighted our palates. The presentation of each plate was equally impressive, adding to the overall dining experience. We were particularly impressed by the homemade pink ravioli with salmon which was exceptional. The wine selection was extensive and expertly curated, perfectly complementing the flavors of our meal. Blue Water Ristorante is a true gem in Sorrento, offering an unforgettable culinary experience that will leave a lasting impression. We can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable offerings. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Sorrento!

Staff was warm and attentive - they greet almost everyone who passed by the restaurant and would help shoo away curious pigeons that roam too near dining tables. They gave us spoons for the pasta before they were served, and sharper knifes for the veal steak. Seafood pasta was good - arrived at the table piping hot, rich in its sauce and plenty of unshelled prawns and shelled seafood (though a little sandy for the mussels). 🦐 Would try their lobster pasta if given a next chance to visit this restaurant 👍🏻 Lemon sauce tagiolini was much more creamy than what was expected, hence bit too heavy for our liking. Might suit those who enjoy lemon cheesecake 🍋 Veal steak was satisfying - brought to our table only after we were done with the pasta. The meat was tender and quite generous in portion, potatoes well baked and salad greens crunchy. 👍🏻 It said "no corpeto" & "no service charge" in the menu at the entrance, and it really did not charge us for seating, unlike the restaurant downstream to it (la cazzarola) 🙂

Probably the worst restaurant in Sorrento. The service is terrible, my boyfriend received the wrong pizza (one with ham instead of the vegetarian pizza) and the same thing happened to a table nearby as well. They had to make a new pizza but my food was already there, so I had to eat alone while my boyfriend had to wait for his pizza to finally arrive. They did not apologize and did not offer to take back my pasta dish and keep it warm or make a new one so that we could eat together. Instead, we both practically had to eat alone after one another. One would expect a proper apology and maybe a desert for free, but we received neither. Im addition, we received bread and parmesan only after we had asked for it. What a terrible service!! Then when asked for the bill, I saw that they had added some deserts to the bill even though we had no deserts! The waiter just laughed and removed it from the bill, but again, he did not apologize. Furthermore, their „pizza“ tasted even worse than frozen pizza! The dough is completely dry and thin and hard and the pizza tastes like nothing at all. All the people around us seemed to feel the same, because they were all asking for salt, chili oil and pepper and none of them finished their dishes. The Cacio e Pepe was okay, but rather overpriced though. They try to lure you in the restaurant but once you‘ve sat down, they treat you in a completely unfriendly and disrespectful manner! All in all, this is a terrible restaurant with terrible staff which is totally being confirmed by the way the restaurant owner responds to other critical reviews here on Google! Unfortunately, I had forgotten to check the reviews before entering the restaurant… And in addition, they keep two very large crayfish in a very tiny aquarium in their restaurant (and they seem to live in there for a while as the restaurant explicitly points out that they are not going to be eaten but are just there for display) which is just animal cruelty as you can really see them suffering in this tiny aquarium and desperately trying to get out. I guess that simply confirms the overall impression of...

Dined at the Blu Water, atmosphere was very pleasant and staff friendly. Food was good although they brought wrong meal but seemed a genuine mistake they offered to replace but we declined so we could eat together. When we came to leave we asked the restaurant manager (Mr Domineco) where to catch a taxi. He very kindly (we thought) offered to order us a taxi. He said a lady called Maria would pick us up in 10 minutes at the bottom of the street.

She arrived in what looked like a taxi confirming her name and that Domineco had called her. It was 9.30pm and a short 10/15 minute journey to our hotel. She had a young child in the front who she said was her grandson, she told us her husband had died and she worked 18 hours a day 7 days a week as a taxi driver to support her family. We were disgusted when we arrived at our hotel to be told we owed her €68 when she could see my partner was angry at being over charged she offered €60 as a good price for Domineco booking her.

We paid and reported this to our hotel reception and they said it was a big problem in Sorrento.

We felt VERY LET DOWN BY BLU WATER, we left happy with the food and service and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We certainly had no reason to not accept his recommendation for a taxi to return us to our hotel. BEWARE IF THEY OFFER TO BOOK...
