My husband and I have just returned from a lovely 3 night stay at the Santo Stefano B&B. It was our first trip to Venice and we weren't really sure which areas would be best to stay in, but after reading the reviews for this place we decided to book.||||Giorgio called the day after I booked, to ask if we had any questions. He also emailed with directions and s mobile number in case we were delayed or got lost! We really appreciated this and felt like we were being looked after. The directions were easy to understand and we got the water bus from the airport to the S. Angela boat stop, which was a 5 minute walk to the apartment. We followed Giorgios directions and found the apartment easily. ||||It's located just of a lovely Piazza, with cafes and restaurants. The doorway is a typical big wooden Venetian door and the apartment is in the top floor (no lift - this didn't bother us in the slightest bit worth noting). The room was basic but had everything we needed and more! Double bed (that can be split if required), wardrobe, table and chairs, a small kitchen area and a bathroom. There was also air conditioning and wifi at no extra cost... VERY much appreciated as it was hot and the wifi enabled to look up restaurants and museums etc on an evening.||||We arrived early but we were able to leave our bags, collect the jets and were also given a guide, details about our stay and recommendations on restaurants and wine bars. Again, very thoughtful and much appreciated. Giorgio was really friendly and gave us loads of tips and advice on everything! Lovely guy who will go out of his way to make sure you have everything you need.||||Bed was comfy, books and guides in the room to browse, air con good, nice shower. Fridge stocked up with meat, cheese, eggs, yogurts and also a fruit pie, wine and plenty of fresh coffee... What more can you want!!||||In our opinion this was the prefect location and apartment. Walking distance to everywhere and lovely atmosphere - would definitely recommend and stay...
Read moreStayed here for 3 nights in August and had a lovely time. Although it's called a B&B, its actually more of a self - contained apartment. There is a small kitchen area which is fully stocked on arrival with bread, cold meats, cheese, eggs, biscuits, fruit, cakes, milk, juice.. very well provided for. This was topped up each day when our room was cleaned. Overall, the room was lovely, very clean and spacious. ||||On arrival we were greeted by Giorgio who stays in the apartment next door. He welcomed us, and sat us down with a map and showed us where we were in relation to San Marco square, and all the main points of interest, as well as lots of recommended restaurants. He was very friendly and helpful.||||The location of this apartment is fab as it is located just off Santo Stefano square, which has lots of nice restaurants and a really good atmosphere. The main square with St Mark's Cathedral and Doges palace is only a 10 minute walk. Infact, most places are within walking distance.||||Would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting this...
Read moreStayed for 3 nights. Location was perfect, within easy walking distance from Train & Bus station and to most locations. Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing environment. Room was clean and well equipped. The fridge was stocked daily with everything you need for a good breakfast, ham, cheese, eggs, bread etc. A map was provided, marked up with various eating and drinking establishments, which were found and enjoyed.||||The host(s) Giorgio (and Eleanor) were welcoming. Eleanor's recommendation was 'Just Get Lost', which we did, on several occasions - but finding your way back is half the fun. ||||Would highly recommend this property for your stay. Please note there is no lift and not suitable for those with...
