We booked 4 nights (initially) in Suite no 5 (The highest floor they have)||The room is very spacious and nicely designed, with wooden floor and a private sona !||The location was right on San Marco square really close to all the main attractions of venice||When we first walked in the room, it was boiling hot, the temperature was around 27 c and felt like 100 c, however the staff told us initially that if we need the AC on we can ask and they will turn it on. Up to here everything seemed perfect.||Now we need to go to bed around 11 pm, it is still boiling hot in the room with the windows closed and the AC supposed to be ON, we thought to open the windows to get some fresh cool air, however, all the music & the noisy crowd in San Marco square seemed to be in our room, and to add to that the bells were ringing on top of the same building every hour ! how could someone possibly sleep with open windows,||So we closed them and asked several times the staff to increase the AC to maximum fan & minimum temperature, which they claim they did, but still we spent the night sweating while trying to sleep!||||The second night: we decided to sleep with the windows open and try to ignore the noisy San Marco, and when we got up in the morning, our skins became like a bumpy road from the mosquito bites,||||We tried to discuss the situation and the AC problem with the staff, and then they told us it is actually turned off from the central AC and they can't turn it on!!! And provided us with a fan ! At that time the room was filled with mosquitos from last night, ||So finally we decided to check out early and book the last 2 nights in another hotel (Danielli Hotel) which has a working AC!||||Kindly from the hotel, they didn't charge us for the last night, but I don't think this will cover up for the bites and the hassle we been through! And he extra night that we had to pay in Venice!||||If you want this hotel for its nice room & excellent location, ten make sure that the AC is working even in winter, otherwise be prepared to sleep with noise &...
Read moreThe hotel is adorable; one of those old hotels with old-style rooms. We absolutely loved the decor. The room’s size was okay and the toilet was nice. The room in general is clean and nicely organized. The toilet was villeroy and boch toilet, which is definitely not something you can find easily in Europe. There is someone in reception throughout most of the day until 10 pm. When we checked in we were told that checkout time is at 11 am but we requested an extension through Expedia and it was granted until 12 pm as most hotels throughout the world checkout guests at 12 noon. We also have a baby so it is hard to checkout earlier. The view from the hotel is amazing as it is like 2 meters away from St. Mark’s Basilica! The challenges with this hotel are: 1. No lift! So if you have a kid, or a wheelchair or too many suitcases it is a bit hard. They, however, took our suitcases to our room. 2. You’re not allowed to use an iron in the room, which is a challenge because as a tourist your clothes are folded in the suitcases for a long time so they are all wrinkled and you need to press them before you wear them. 3. We asked if the hotel can iron our clothes since irons are not allowed and they said that we need to provide the clothes at least half a day in advance and the prices are ridiculous. 14 euros to press 1 dress! Yes 14 euros, no mistake! 4. You have to ask them to change your bed sheets or else the will not change them! 5. No coffee machine in the room! This is quite weird as it is standard in most hotels around the world to have a coffee machine for guests. 6. No glasses or cutlery or anything in the room except for soap, shampoo, shower gel, etc. Basically it is a cute clean hotel but too expensive for...
Read moreBeautiful hotel in the perfect location. Very nice staff. Loved our stay. The room was absolutely gorgeous and we would definitely come back. Breakfast was served in a separate building a few minutes walk away but it was not our favourite it was just ok. One problem we encountered on our last day was the window was left open by the maid and we got bitten by mosquitoes whilst sleeping on our last night. I have about 30 bites on my face and arms and my husband was bit about 20 times mostly on his face. I am allergic to insect bites so now have massive lumps all over me. When we was in bed i kept hearing them buzzing around. I think if you leave the windows open you need to provide a mosquito machine or spray. We could see them up on the ceiling on our last morning. Next time we will be better prepared and honestly i thought it was too early & cold for mosquitos but i was wrong! The hotel is in a busy location so there is noise throughout the night including the church bells ringing every hour. Most hotels in venice are the same so this didn't bother us. The toiletries are lovely and everything you need is provided including a shaver and toothbrushes and toothpaste.|The bathtub was a massive bonus as we love a bath but i am a plus size lady and it was a very tight squeeze, my husband is a size 34” waist and he also thought it was a small slim bath so not very relaxing for us. If you are petite its ok tho. Pillows are very hard and i think feather/down pillows would definitely increase sleep and comfort. Despite these little issues it did not spoil our trip and we loved this hotel. Beautiful, clean and perfect location. We will be back (and will bring our own pillows and mozzie machine. Thank you for a...
