In a quiet area in Venice, enjoyed the location and convenience to explore the city without being bombarded with crowds. Near some lovely restaurants & cafes.||Unfortunately, the hotel is let down by the rude owner. Hotel is never manned, they only clean the room when customers check-out regardless of length of stay and the owner believes that because he put this in writing customers must be blindingly happy and think this is an acceptable standard of cleanliness for a hotel that is 3 stars and charges as much as they do, drain in the shower was blocked and we had the owner knocking on the hotel door telling us not to "shower with the door open" (??who showers with the door open? We certainly don't) & that we were taking "too long" of a shower (my partner had been in the shower for a maximum of 4 minutes at that time) causing it to "flood". If you look on booking.com other customers talk about the drain being blocked & issues with the plumbing, the drain was only fixed after my partner put his foot down and told the owner to fix the issue and not tell his customers to take 2 minute showers as a solution to the problem. Originally gave this place 6/10 on booking.com, but the owner was so rude and insulting in his reply I'm scoring him a 0 on both platforms due to how disrespectful he was. This is a tenant-owner style accommodation, not one that values...
Read moreFor a two night stay, this was a reasonably priced and decent option. It worked for what we were looking for, but I wouldn't rush to go back.
There is no service at Il Pozzo Magico, but the owner was easy enough to contact. Fresh towels and toilet paper were left outside the door daily, but be mindful that there is no traditional room service or breakfast option.
One massive downside to our stay: MOSQUITOES. When we first arrived, we killed at least twenty. So bring bug spray! It lessened up, but the initial shock was something we had not prepared for.
The location is quiet and cozy. It seems like it's in more of a residential than touristy area, which we enjoyed. Luckily, Venice is extremely walkable and easy to get around. Quite a few popular dinner places were nearby but be aware, you NEED a reservation. We managed to find delicious places that didn't require any reservations, but definitely a helpful tip to know.
Overall, this place was completely serviceable for our short stay and at a low cost. I felt it was good value, but would probably look elsewhere if I ever...
Read moreVery modern and well renovated guest house. You don't think you are in Venice.
The owner in emails or text sounds rude but actually he is a very nice person. We arrived late, so before that he sent us an instructional video in WhatsApp to show us how to check in. Very nice of him.
The next day we sent him a text that we don't have any soap, and he told us that you should have told me earlier. We thought it was rude but actually it's his lack of English. He came the next day, apologised that the soap wasn't full and he brought us to a cafe with his wife and bought us breakfast. In person he is a pleasant man. We had a chat and he gave us a lot of tips for Venice.
Also, the place located 10-12 mins from the crazy part of town which makes it perfect if you wanna have a good sleep. In general, we had...
