Photographer Venice Pietro Volpato — Local services in Venice

My husband and I had a photoshoot with Pietro on Valentine’s Day, Feb 14 to celebrate our 20-year wedding anniversary. We found Pietro on TripAdvisor while searching for a Venice photographer and reserved with him based on all of the positive reviews. I also looked at his Instagram page and I thought all of his photos were great! First off, I appreciate that Pietro was very easy to contact and communicate with via email. Obviously, this is a big deal, considering he is on the other part of the world from us (in California). The information regarding the photoshoot was very straightforward and clear. Fees are set. He saves an extra day for you, in case it rains. No deposit is required. He touches base with you a couple weeks or months prior to the photoshoot session. On the day of the photoshoot, Pietro met with us promptly at 12pm, at our B&B in Venice. First, he took photos of us in our neighborhood (Santa Croce). There were less people and many beautiful bridges. What we noticed the most about Pietro, was his attention to detail. Before taking a shot, if he noticed litter on the ground, he would pick it up! Anyways, as we walked around Venice, Pietro gave us insight into the culture and history of the city. That made the photoshoot go by so fast because it felt like a friend was just taking you around their neighborhood! We also took pictures at the Rialto Bridge and Market, San Marco’s Square (in front of Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica), and Bridge of Sighs. Pietro uses 4-5 specific gondaliers who allow him to take photos and whom he knows well. The gondola ride fee is separate so bring money for that. Our gondalier was Max and our ride was so fun and magical!! At the end of the session, Pietro brought us to his favorite neighborhood bar for a spritz and cichettis. It really felt like we were talking to an old friend. I think that making his clients feel comfortable with him, really shows in the pictures. He likes his photo subjects to have fun! And it appears that they do! Since it was low-season, Pietro was able to send us some finished pictures within 1-2 days, via Google Photos. We took many pictures and loved many of them! Memorable Couple’s photoshoot in Venice with photographer Pietro Volpato-July 2019

Venice is meant to be photographed.

That drived our inspiration to have a couple’s photoshoot during our recent travel to Venice between 10-13 July 2019. Being photography lovers, we came across excellent reviews for Pietro Volpato, a professional photographer based in Venice.

As our trip to Venice was to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary, without having any second thoughts, we contacted with Pietro.

Our communication with Pietro was very straightforward, responsive and detailed. He uses both WhatsApp and email .He perfectly provided us with all details and solidly planned our photography “rendezvous”. He even have had a back up date set,just in case weather was not appropriate.

On the photoshoot day, we met Pietro at our hotel ( he arrived like 10 minutes earlier). Very friendly and open, he made us feel very relaxed from the first moment.

As Pietro is a Venice based photographer, during our photo session we explored some hidden Venice -photographic- locations which are only known to locals and he shared with us also some essential information for each location and Venice heritage.

At our request, Pietro had booked also a gondola ride at the great canal with a red leather seat gondola. Interestingly, it seemed to us that our gondolier was actually part of our photoshoot but always being very discreet, yet complementing our great photos taken during the ride! So great !

As a professional and knowledgeable photographer, Pietro has an attention to detail. For example, he would even pick up ground litter if needed!

Pietro wanted every photo taken to be as best as possible and under the best lighting conditions. And the reality is that he did make it !

Pietro delivered our photos into our inbox just few days later via a dedicated google drive link! No delays whatsoever and he send follow up emails to make sure that they were safely and fully downloaded on our end.

His photos were simply amazing, as if they came out of a magazine ! We loved every moment with Pietro and it was a memorable experience!
