Okay, let me start this review with a great big WOW!! I'm just going to say straight up, that when you go to Haku for a haircut, it's not just a haircut. It's an immersive experience. From the warm welcome, the incredible young man who sat me down and talked through styling then took me to the shampooing area. The magic then began. OMG!! I think I nearly reached enlightenment with that head massage. So much care taken as well. I was then taken to my chair and offered a neck massage. SAY YES!! My shoulder pain I've had for nearly 2 years has all but gone. My stylist was Toshi and I could not have had a more competent and qualified stylist do my hair. He was open, funny and honest about the state of my hair and when he finished I couldn't believe the magic he had created. I can hands down say it was the best haircut and blow ave I have ever had. I now have to wait 9 months before I can go back to have it done again. The price was incredible and I cannot fault the staff. I cannot wait to return to have my hair attended to again. I’m not writing reviews frequently but I had to share my experience at Haku. When you first get there you are offered either a cold or hot drink which already makes you feel at home. Then someone from the staff approached me and asked: how do you imagine yourself after the haircut today? Obviously I 100% trusted on him because everyone there is so stylish and professional. Then the haircut begins which later becomes a head message and wash. After that they are doing some fixes to make sure you’ll be satisfied 11/10. This wasn’t a haircut it was a unique experience. I am a tourist visiting Kyoto and I wanted to get a Japanese perm for a new hair style! Randomly, I found 2nd floor Haku hair salon and I was pleasantly and warmly served by Hair Stylist Ayami.

Ayami is a very honest, polite and professional hair stylist. She told me the large curls perm will not be lasting when I consulted her. She recommended more trendy small curls perms that make me more trendy!

As it is a new try for me, I consulted her on how to style and she taught me to use hair moose and heavy oil to style patiently. I enjoyed my new hair style!
