One of the best ramens we had during our Japan trip.

They specialise in chicken broth (paitan) ramen and you can choose whether to have a simple shio/salt broth or miso broth. If you enjoy the pure and natural flavours of chicken, I'd recommend getting the salt version but if you don't and want to cover up the taste a little, I'd recommend the miso which adds more umami. The miso can get a little salty towards the end but you can order a small rice as a bonus which you add to the broth after finishing the noodles and this makes for a comforting, filling and umami bomb rice bowl.

The broth had an extremely rich and soothing chicken flavour. You don't get heaps of toppings which isn't necessarily a bad thing as the broth and noodles by themselves is delicious. You can of course choose to add some more for a small cost each.

We also had their gyoza/dumplings which is tasted similar to xiao long bao/soup dumplings and they were absolutely heaven. The dough was bouncy (indicating they were freshly made) and when you bite into them, you get an explosion of rich, flavoured soup.

The two guys working there create a friendly and energetic atmosphere enhancing the experience of the meal. They also have a good understanding of English which is a bonus 🙂.

I highly recommend this place as the ramen tastes great, the energy is high and it's in a convenient location.

Note: we went in Dec 2023 and they only accepted cash. They may accept card at...

I don’t know where to begin with this ramen. I was so excited to try it, but it failed on almost every level. The broth was the best part, but everything else was so squishy, there was no texture difference. At the end of the bowl, it made me feel sick.

The flavor egg was undercooked, the white part was mushy. It also had no flavor as it hadnt been marinated properly.

The chicken was tender but also had no flavor.

The pork had no flavor either and was thin so like I said there was no texture difference between all the ingredients.

The noodles were squishy but that was how theyre supposed to be, and its not my preference for ramen but that wasnt the problem, the problem was everything was too soft and there wasnt a texture difference ;(

I also find it a bit overpriced as theres not even bamboo and just two pieces of flavorless meat and some green onions.

I think this ramen shop is still new and ha...

This was the best ramen I’ve ever had in my entire life. I went with my mom and fiancé, and we all had the chicken ramen with the soy sauce broth (has 4 types of soy sauce in the broth!). When I tell you the broth literally brought me to tears, I mean it. If I had one critique, is that my fiancés chicken was a bit cold, but after letting it sit in the broth it was perfect and very tender! We also had the dumplings, which kinda were like xio long bao, and they were so tender and juicy, and smothered in chili oil. The two men working there were extremely kind, and there were about 8-9 seats at the bar. It was intimate & absolutely delicious! If I ever come back to Kyoto I would go out of my way to come back...
