If you’re looking for authentic Korean cuisine (BBQ), you should look for something else, I’m sure you will have a better option. The restaurant offers very small portions but charge for high price, this makes it even more expensive. They don’t follow Korean traditions because they don’t give you silver/metal chopsticks and spoons, they don’t give you side dishes for your BBQ either, instead they 550 yen for kimchi and the flavor is not good. They also don’t follow Japanese tradition because they don’t offer you free iced water, instead they kind of force you to order a drink. We spent 7700 yen for 2 persons, it’s just barely enough because I ate rice to fill my stomach otherwise I will still be hungry!!! The flavor is average, you can find the same flavor food in the Korean supermarket only for a quarter of the price. The service is very cold, they saw you’re burning your meat but they don’t give you advice how to grill the meat better, so I had burned and...
Read moreThis place is a gem in Shinjuku. Don't let its location on the edge of the red light district deter you. This place serves up seriously good beef and hormon at super reasonable prices. I would recommend going for their 2nd or 3rd tier grade as the highest tier has a little too much fat for my liking. You can eat more without feeling sick this way.
They are also super thoughtful with your jackets. They provide plastic bags to put your jackets in so you don't end up smelling like wagyu karubi on the way out.
I would recommend some sides to go with the beef. The kimchi here is legit and helps with digestion.
Pro tip: when your meat starts to catch fire you think you might burn the place down, ask for ice and put it on the grill.
There might be a short wait time when you get here. Don't be discouraged. They have two seating areas, 2 units apart so the wait times won't be that long usually....
