During our trip to Japan, we were eager to try high-quality sushi—especially because several people in our group had previously had bad experiences and claimed they didn’t like sushi. That all changed when we discovered Sushi Shiina, a truly exceptional place.

From the moment we arrived, the restaurant captivated us. It’s simple, modest, and artisanal, with a fully personalized approach: the sushi is prepared right in front of you, using only the highest quality fish. We were amazed by the skill of Yuichi Taisho, who crafted each dish with impressive precision and delicacy. Every piece was a work of art.

The experience was further enriched by the variety of sake offered and the warmth of the service, which was attentive and kind throughout. The price is absolutely fair for the quality of the food and the impeccable service.

In short, Sushi Shiina offers a unique and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it—even to those who think they don’t like sushi. You might just change...

This was a really pleasant and peaceful dining experience. Everything about it felt quiet, focused, and very much about the food itself. The atmosphere was minimal and intimate, which made it easy to relax and enjoy every moment without distractions.

I went for the omakase course and everything was incredibly fresh and carefully prepared. Each piece of sushi was served directly by the chef, which gave the whole experience a nice personal touch. I especially liked the sea urchin and shrimp — very soft and flavorful, but not overly rich. Everything felt balanced and subtle, which I appreciated.

Service was polite and low-key, which really matched the calm vibe of the place. There wasn’t much talking or explaining, but that worked for me — it gave space to just enjoy the food quietly.

Overall, this was a simple but very refined experience. If you want something relaxed, traditional, and without too much fuss or noise, this is definitely the kind of sushi spot...

Had an incredible experience here with Chef Yamaguchi!! 10/10 experience and worth the money for this high quality of an omakase. My husband and I came to Japan for our honeymoon & this is the one and only omakase we booked. I think we ended up being the only 7pm reservation because when we arrived, the counter was full with people at other points of their omakase experience. We ended up basically having a private dining experience since everyone left shortly after we arrived.

Chef Yamaguchi really made it a stellar experience and explained to us what he was serving. We used Google Translate to communicate and had great conversation with him but regardless of that, his English was pretty good!

The sushi was fantastic and tasted so fresh. The atmosphere was 10/10. Very clean and service was top-notch. Try the sochu, it’s very smooth. This was the best part of our honeymoon.

10/10 will be back again when we return to Japan!! Thank you,...

This is one of the best Omakase restaurants I’ve been to in the world! The other place was in Bangkok, but that one was very expensive! $180US The best part of the meal was having a private counter with our own chef! Even though he’s also making sushi for other guest in between! Their Hokkaido Uni @ scallops were excellent & perfectly chilled! The diced tuna wrap was very flavorful! We were very fortunate to have a Japanese friend to make the reservation & talk with the chef! The service was also top notch! I will definitely return but there’s so many to try in Tokyo!
