A Hidden Gem with Authentic French Flavors!
I had the pleasure of discovering a fantastic French bistro recently, and I must say it’s a hidden gem worth seeking out. The meal began with a delightful cauliflower potage (or salad), a warm and comforting starter that was both creamy and flavorful. It was the perfect way to open the meal, and its richness set the tone for what was to come.
The pork sirloin steak was undoubtedly the star of the show. It was incredibly impressive and truly embodied authentic and casual French —nothing like the "localized" French-Japanese fusion you often find. The pork was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the mustard sauce was a brilliant accompaniment, enhancing the flavors without overpowering them.
The meal, which cost only 1300 yen (cash only), was an absolute steal for the quality and authenticity on offer. The entire experience felt genuine and unpretentious, a rare find in today's dining scene. I left completely satisfied and already planning my next visit. If you’re in the area, this place is a must-try, and I’ll definitely be returning as often...
Read moreConsidering the prices of the dishes, this french bistro is well worth 5 stars. The CP is very high. Dishes are quite voluminous (maybe correct for westerners) and yet very delicious. The interior design is fine,, though not very spacious. Nice for dating or inviting close friends. Highly recommend, if you are NOT French speaking....nor linguist. In fact, only pity is that the title of the bistro in French spelling is ungrammatical! 2 severe errors,at least. Recommend to correct it soon. The current title with both “Les Jardin” (without “s”) and “des Dodine ” (des+ singular noun) as is of the bistro in French spelling only damages its high quality image for inviting savvy international gourmands. Fortunately clients don’t have to eat letters. So I still give 5 stars as “Casual French”, not for a formal event that requires its name to...
Read moreI went there because of the good reviews and was very disappointed. Frankly, I am not sure why other people rated it so highly… Uh, does Dinner taste different?
The pork was tough, which was too hard to cut down, the meat itself had no flavor, and the mashed potatoes were unfortunately not in their original form and had been turned into a sauce. The sauce on the chicken was just sour and monotonous, which became tiresome as I continued eating it and the butter rice had no buttery flavor.
No matter how fine it looks or how affordable it is, it is a restaurant, and if it does not taste good, I will not visit again.
FYI: They only accept cash...
