SPA Cantic Shinjuku — Hotel in Tokyo

I booked the birthday package for my boyfriend but was disappointed with the experience. The price was significantly higher than other massage shops, but I chose this place specifically for the unique towel birthday cake. Unfortunately, the overall service fell short of expectations.

The massage lasted only 40 minutes, which was different from the description and felt too short for the price. Despite asking for a stronger massage, it remained very soft, more like gentle body rubbing than an actual massage. For nearly 30,000 yen, I expected a much more satisfying experience.

Went in for a couples massage and can genuinely say this is not a massage. It’s literally a ridiculously overpriced rub down. My fiancée and I both told our masseuses to put more pressure like 3 times but they just continued to simply rub our bodies. Not only that but we paid for a 90 min course and they only did it for 1 hr. It felt so rushed and by the end we were more sore than when we went in. They also just covered us in towels and did not even do a whole body massage as they simply ignored many parts like thighs, head, arms and shoulders. My hubby and I went here during our vacation in Japan and it was pure bliss!

We were greeted warmly and the staff at the spa were exceptional. As a foreigner, I really appreciate how hard they tried to use English to communicate with us.

I requested for a towel cake with a personalized message as a surprise for my husband, it was executed perfected.

A foot bath and tea was served as we chose our massage oil. The 90 minute massage was very relaxing, I fell asleep towards the end, which is just what I needed.

They also gifted us a Polaroid photo of us and salt bath as a memento.
