Found this restaurant wondering the streets. Saw a few people go in so I thought I would check it out. Restaurant was fully booked, but had a space open up after waiting 15 min.
Service, very good. I don’t speak a word of Japanese, but staff was patient, and helped me pick out some dishes that fit my mood. Warning, like all Japanese restaurants, you need to signal them for help, it isn’t like in US where they are ever present.
Food, wow! Great seafood. Had a miso glazed cod that might be my favorite fish dish in japan. Also had mushroom and chestnut tempura. It was a little sweet, but I love that! Sashimi was also very good. I really enjoyed the scallop and sea urchin.
Vibe was definitely chill/cool. Probably a great date place for the Japanese.

Read moreOne of my Japanese friends recommended this restaurant, and it turned out to be a real hidden gem. The entire experience was outstanding. We were given a private room that comfortably fit four people, creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Every drink we tried was unique and expertly crafted, and the food was absolutely delicious—beautifully prepared and truly special in both taste and presentation. The ambiance was calm, cozy, and inviting. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable dining...

Food is nice and you can expect all the Kyoto famous dishes. No vegan options thou - so keep it in mind. I fulle recommend it if you a looking for more "japanese atmosphere" place...
