Hotel Five 2 — Hotel in Borneo

Great price, big bed and clean. I don’t think you can fault this place as it’s a good price for the area. We had our own bathroom and lots of space to put our giant backpacks. It’s walking distance to the bus terminal if you want to walk around the national park and walking distance to lots of restaurants. They have a balcony where you can dry your washing which is a big plus for us. Only negative is that the beds are very hard and a bathroom shelf was rusting and leaving pieces everywhere. Also, OYO up their prices on the weekend. If you speak to the staff directly they might honour the same price you paid on say a Thursday. We did this as we stayed thurs- sat and the place wasn’t fully booked so didn’t see it was fair to pay loads more. WiFi worked very well which has been rare for most of Malaysia! In January, we stayed two nights at hotel five 2. The hotel is not the cheapest in the area; unfortunately, however, we are afraid that we found it a little bit too expensive for what we got.||||- the room looked very old||- the room was not really clean||- noise isolation does not really matter if you are suffering from the AC fan sound of the room upstairs||- the bathroom looked really old, not really clean||- the bathroom is a combination of a shower and a toliet, resulting in a wet toilet after a shower has been taken||- location wise it is fine. I didn't mind that this place had a firm bed, small bathroom and no lifts, it was clean, close enough to walk to attractions and staff were friendly. I would've recommended this place.

Unfortunately, I was attacked by bed bugs in my first night here and decided to move out (the staff was nice to offer a refund). The staff told us that it's the first report they've received and were genuinely concern, apologetic, and seemed determined to ensure that this doesn't happen to other guests.
