Mcity Inn — Hotel in Borneo

Satisfactory place to stay especially on business where we dont spend a lot of time in the room but need a quiet & clean place to retreat, close to various eating places. Quite a walk to Imperial mall, but if feeling lazy there is a convenience store & coin operated laundromat situated at the back shoplot. The corridors is quite stunk, smell of mildew/ciggy...but not so much in the room. I booked the lowest 1 queen bed, no window room for just rm70+ per night. Very basic, no kettle, no toiletries provided. Only a wall mounted hairdryer & body soap. The extraction fan in bathroom works well, hot rain shower, clean toilet, nice pillows & good bed. Spray a bit of Febreeze and all is set to make this a nest for my next 4 night. Flat screen tv with usb plug, useful to play own...

Stayed there once for 2 nights with my family (wife, 12 years old son & 5 years old son). We have stayed in few other inns before in Miri and we find this inn is the best based on the followings:|1. Competitive price|2. Strategic location. Next to Ming Cafe.|3. Room is spacious enough to accommodate 4 of us.|4. Allocated parking space right in front of the hotel. Otherwise, it could be quite challenging to find parking slot.|5. Rooms are regularly maintained. We know from the smell of the room first time you enter it.|6. The hotel room looks very old despite recently renovated. The AC was incredibly loud. The staff told us we have to set the AC fan to the lowest to reduce the noise, but it was already very hot! It's either that or just bear with the loud noise. The maintenance staff never came when we called. We had to go to the reception and asked for a room change. However, they told us there's no similar room to change and they still wanted to charge us extra for the slightly bigger other room even though it was them who gave us an inhabitable room in the first place!
