New Thompson Seafood — Restaurant in Sarawak

My recent visit to this seafood restaurant was a pleasant experience overall. The service was excellent; the staff were friendly and very helpful. They were also remarkably quick with the food, so we didn't have to wait long for our meal. The dishes were well worth the price, offering good value. However, a couple of the dishes were a bit salty for my taste. Despite that, the food was still enjoyable. The restaurant's location is a major plus, as it's breezy with a nice sea wind. The only real challenge was the parking. The street is quite narrow, but we were able to find a parking lot right across the street, which was convenient. Overall, I'd recommend this place for the great service, quick kitchen, and good value. Just be prepared for a bit of a hunt...

We visited this restaurant after reading Google reviews that it is upfront with prices and does not take advantage of tourists. True enough, when we ordered the crab and grilled fish (which had no price on the menu, a common practice in Chinese seafood restaurants), the service staff quoted the price upfront. We found the price reasonable and ordered Crab Bee Hoon, Grilled Fish, mixed vegetables, and two drinks for a total of RM114. The bee hoon had four small-sized crabs (we found out later from the Grab driver that Sarawak crabs are small, and the bigger ones are imported from Sabah). The dishes were good but not heavenly. This is a regular kopitiam kind of setting restaurant. Place is nice and clean. We ordered some of their most frequent order menu and all are delicious! One dish i miss is the mani veg stir fry with eggs. My mom used to cook them in soup but stir fry is best! There is also this fern veg that my cousins say you can pick up in any drains. Hahaha. It was cooked with red wine and it's good! Their grill fish taste fresh and really meaty. 10 of us could barely finish! The fermented fried chicken was also delicious.
